The Atlanta Falcons, who won only four games last season, won a coin toss Friday morning that will allow them to select third in the 2008 draft.

Spots No. 3 through No.5 were uncertain until Friday morning because the Falcons, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs each finished with 4-12 records and each played schedules with a cumulative .516 winning percentage in 2007. Draft positions are determined by team records and schedules, with the easier schedules getting the higher draft seeding. A coin toss is used to break ties.

After the Friday morning coin toss, the Falcons received the No. 3 pick, the Raiders No. 4 and the Chiefs No. 5.

The Falcons had the first call and won the toss. Under that scenario, the Falcons got the third pick and the Raiders the fourth pick. Had the Falcons lost the toss and the Raiders won, the Raiders would have drafted third, and then the Falcons would have flipped against the Chiefs for the No. 4 and No. 5 picks.

The falcons get 3rd pick followed by the raiders and than the chiefs
Now the draft will probably look like this

Miami: Chris Long- people love him,but say he doesn't always finish plays and
he has already maxed out his frame. The dolphins would love to trade, but they end up with long.

St. Louis- Jake Long- before the season the rams were supposed to get to the playoffs. If they make the playoffs than they will have a pick in the 20's.
By then it's to late to get a premier tackle. So they secure orlando pace's replacement. Long will start on the right until pace retires.

Falcons- Darren Mcfadden- why wouldn't they get mcfadden. He was only the 2nd player to ever win the Doak award twice. Dunn isn't getting younger and norwood is more of a change of pace back.

Oakland-Glen Dorsey- how the mighty have fallen. Once a lock to go number 1 falls to the raiders. They select sapp's replacement. After the combine this pick could also be ellis.

Kansas City-Vernon Gholston-the chiefs want to trade down so they get better value for their franchise left tackle. I think that gholston could higher than this because he will be a workout warrior. Ifd they trade then it would be beneficial for the bengals. They would get a stud olb or de who averaged 11 sacks his last two seasons. Then the chiefs would take clady 2 picks before the broncos do.

PLZ COMMENT
THIS TOOK A LOT OF RESEARCH.

Yeah just saw that. They're so lucky. Going from a 5th round pick to a 3rd, there's a lot lot more value in that pick.

I think Atlanta and/or KC may pick QB's in the first round.

if they go qb than they will trade down because matt ryan doesnt deserve to go before the 10th pick unless he has an amazing combine.

They MAY go QB, but they have many needs so they maybe the team to give us a 2nd for a guy like Sage and a late pick-mid in 09 if Sage plays well. Remember they have 2 #2's thanks to the deal we made with them.

They may not risk that though. I'm not sure a team will trade up a few picks and give up a lot either.
