It has been reported that the Raiders are interested in moving Micheal Huff. He has a pretty hefty contract but I sure hope there is a way that we can work it out and grab this guy. If we can grab Huff then we can probably get a decent corner in the third round. I don't know how much truth there is to the rumor that we have already acquired a free agent RB from Green Bay but we will see in the next couple of days. One thing I do know is that I'm glad I don't have to make these decisions and glad that we have Rick Smith and Kubiak to do if for us. Micheal Huff is key because, I don't think there is a DB or Safety in the draft that is better than him. Would Huff be worth giving away our first rounder for and maybe get the Raiders to give us a second rounder in the deal? Just want to get some opinions on this.

Huff is a BEAST.I would give our third and some cash even though he is way better than that. But the raiders are the ones who WANT to move him.

I wouldn't mind Huff at all,What I wonder is what they would want for him.if we could get him for a third then our first round pick would be a back or a tackle,i'd love it

Its rumored that he is on the trading block.
I think it would be a good move if we traded for him. He could play FS or CB for us and help us a lot (imo).

Bring him to Houston. I would love to see this guy in our D.Backfield with Demps.

Well the Raiders gave up Moss for a fourth rounder, so we should be able to get Huff for two sticks of gum and a bottle of gatorade, let's pull the trigger on this one!!!:D
...seriously two 4th rounders nothing more.
A fourth is even better.

Can he play either Safety spot or is he better suited to one or the other? Does he have good ball skills and awareness or does he just lay the wood?
I remember him from UT but i have forgotten how he played.

He's more of a FS who is being asked to play SS in Oakland. He's an adequate hitter, but his game is based on range, speed, and cover ability. Some speculated that he would make a good CB prior to the 2006 draft.
I doubt he gets moved, and if he does, the price would likely be out of our range. It's nice to dream though.

Maybe...but we have room to move some.
And yea, he was listed prior to the draft as a S that would easily convert to CB in the NFL if needed.

Huff would be great but it will cost to much to get him. They would be stupid to go for anything less then a 2nd rounder.

Could happen...maybe throw in Green(seeing we need a RB in FA or Draft).

Dude, your new and I don't mean to bust your chops. First off this thread is in the wrong section, secondly...please read through the boards or do a search on a topic before making a post like this. Go look in the NFL section...please.
This falls under "league news".

After the deal he and CC made to get us Buchanon, he owes us. BIG time. Unfortunately he wasnt very stupid that day. After that deal he was probably laughing his butt off.

It's always worth putting a feeler out to find out what they want. If you don't try to get an idea of what they want, you'll never know in my opinion. If they want a lil' more than we are willing to give, well you can only say "We gave it a shot but it wasn't worth our time, effort or money to go any further"...
I'd give two 4th Rounders for him though, never hurts to have a new guy come in. A change is as good as a holiday, or so they say...

i think the main problem has been that he plays in Oakland...for goodness sake that's literaly like playing in the black hole...that place just doesn't do anything for players...the team hasn't been good in years now...they haven't been able to keep a coach for more than two years...and their number one pick last year didn't even get signed by the time pre-season was over...how pathetic is that
huff imo simply needs to come back home to texas...play for us...we'll give them CC brown to replace him and call it a night

Huff is a FS that would diffently upgrade that postion, but I wouldn't give anything other than a fourth for him. The reason why so many teams are trying to get raid of players this year is because the draft is so deep. Who wouldn't want extra draft picks in this year's draft?

now that gibril wilson has signed with the raiders the writting is really on the wall for michael huff in oakland...he should actually come cheaper now than before...we should throw them a line and take him from them before they get a clue

I wonder if Huff can be obtained for Travis Johnson. The Raiders need help on the DL and we need help in the secondary. Both are former first round picks that have played decently but maybe not up to expectations.

i wouldn't trade travis johnson...who would start in place of him...everyone was high on maddox two years ago but he did nothing last year...i rather start knocking down needs instead of adding to them...plus travis's best football is still ahead of him...he's starting to put it all together

Because we need a two gap tackle to play next to Okoye not TJ and the Raiders need help on the DL. You have to give something to get something. I like TJ, he did have a good season, but I would rather draft a huge space eater and have Huff playing FS with Demps at SS. If you remember we weren't great against the run, having a bigger guy in the middle would help.

Huff in our secondary makes me think happy thoughts.

My problem with trading TJ and drafting a young player is the couple of years it takes for a rookie to reach the level TJ is at now. Also I believe TJ will continue to improve, this year was just a stepping stone for the young man.
The one upgrade I would love to see is Weavers spot, this was the weakness I saw this year.Once Amobi gets his legs under him and plays strong for the entire season this line will be **** good.
As for the saftey spot I don't have a clue as to what they plan to do.We have to remember Earl is coming back and the coaches were high on him before his injury.Of course all of this competetion is going to make for an exciting traing camp.
By the way thanks for the response and I can see where you are trying to go.http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/happy16.gif

I do like TJ and wouldn't trade him for just anyone. I think one of the reasons it took him awhile was the switching back and forth from 4-3 to 3-4 back to 4-3.

i'm against trading TJ at this point...his contract is too much of a hassle to deal with in terms of dead money anyways...we don't have enough draft picks to be sending to them anyways...i think as of right now we are stuck with demps as FS and brown or earl at SS
