Edit: I just realized the trade required a 2nd rounder as well, but we should try and get a late 1st, early 2nd pick for a DE if we can...

That's right, 2 first rounders. I think we're close to the playoffs and need a couple more peices. A later round 1st round pick will only be worth next year's 1st, and in that we'll have a player that we already want with a year of experience. Last year Cleveland traded for Dallas's 1st round and only gave up this years 1st round.

What should we do with it? Take the top ranked CB at 18. We need help in the secondary and we'd be foolish not to get it with this years crop of CB's. With the other 1st round pick, I say we take Calais Campbell, Hervey, or another DE to put on the other side of Mario. Our defense would be set.

Im not liking this ideal too much. Your talking bout giving our 1st up next year for a late 1st this year, man that just smeels like trouble. Ill be ok with giving up a 2nd & so on but not our 1st. We as a team are not in that position yet to be giving up first rnd picks, we seriously need them just like we need a 2nd this year. Kubes/Smith already stated that we are building this team tru the draft & giving up a first, i dont think thats in their plans.

My question is what does a first next year matter if we're getting a first this year? This draft class is deep at DE. If we can find someone that we feel is a can't miss at the bottom of the 1st or top of the 2nd, I say take him now. Why wait til next year. That player will be a rookie next year. If we get them this year, They'll have that experience by then. P.S. Rodgers-Cromartie just ran a 4.28!

I think I would do it if we got a 20 to 27 pick.
