So it all depends on how the season ends up and how each player looks but im bored and as of RIGHT NOW, what are your predictions on these next 2 drafts? Mine our:

2008:
1 - reciever
2 - safety (should probably move up to, switching number 3 spots to secure a nice safety)
3 - outside linebacker

2009:
1 - running back
2 - left tackle
3 - defensive end

I honestly believe that if Fred Bennet and Brandon Harrison work out, and we make these exact moves, then by 2009, we will have a paved road (production required) to the SUPERBOWL.

Cant say about the draft for many reasons. One, perhaps the Texans sign a good free agent #2 WR in the offseason next year. Then it wouldnt make sense to spend our 1st round pick also on a reciever. Also you have to take in to account that Kubiak is prob going after the best player available. What we can do is list what upgrades this team needs, and try to address them via free agency and draft. This is my opinion on what we need to address in the offseason next year1. secondary2. O line3. WR4. OLBOur first pick in next years draft will likely be one of these positions. Now if Bennet and Harrison surpass expectations, maybe secondary isnt as big of a need. Still, I would suggest picking up a really good corner and/or a really good safety via free agency (Polamalu!). Typically there are good O-line prospects to be had with middle round selections. Right now, i think that next offseason we should look to add 2 safeties (one starting), 2 cornerbacks (one starting), 3 offensive lineman, a good WR, and a good OLB. These needs should be addressed in free agency and in the draft. I think you are correct that in 09 we should look for another 1,000 yard running back.

We're getting a safety in the first round next year, unless there aren't any safeties worth our pick, or someone special slides. Our last line of defense still looks mighty weak.
And yes, I CAN see the future and DO know Kubiak's and Smith's thoughts. [H]

but Polamalu is a free agent next season, what if we sign him instead? Then we wouldn't have to reach in the first round for a specific position

Unless we're switching back again...after investing two seasons andmultipul free agent moves to move into a 4-3, with all due respect,Polamalu isn't on the radar. He is a monster up close to the linein the box. He is a laiblity in space. You're correct in the fact thatnext offseason they should have the dollars to go after some high endfree agents. I'm not in the loop and I don't know...I'd be verysurperised to see Polamalu on a 4-3 team. That is not where hisstrengths lie. He fits the playmaker part...not the coverage part.

Im honestly hoping for a "shut-down" corner next year...let Robinson go back to being the number 2 guy where he was very successful. Then I say we go Wide Reciever, I dont think Jones and Walter will be able to handle the job. In the third go for the best offensive lineman available.

In the next draft I would go, Saftey in the first, then Outside linebacker to help DeMeco cause Greenwood is aging along with Clark and Barber. (Anderson and Orr will still be on the other side) Then go for a Center that knows how to get down and dirty in the middle.
