With the signing of Assante the Eagles are looking to trade Lito. Would anyone give up the 3rd RD pick for Sheppard????
I would do it.

LITO OUT THE DOOR?
With cornerback Asante Samuel in the fold, the Eagles are now going to attempt to trade cornerback Lito Sheppard, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
Calls are already coming in for Sheppard, a first-round draft pick in 2002 who is still only 26 years old.
In recent weeks, there were rumors that that Sheppard was on he block, and the team strongly denied it. In hindsight, it's likely that the Eagles didn't want to tip their hand regarding their plans to pursue Samuel.
Sheppard is under contract for four more seasons, with base salaries of $2 million in 2008, $3 million in 2009, $3.7 million in 2010, and $4.25 million in 2011.

I would too! I really think the Texans can use some money to pick up a solid cornerback in free agency so we can draft a runningback.

So then we would have no second, and no third rounder.
Uh, no.

Uh, no.
We wouldn't need a 3rd, we would have another young CB already.
See if we can trade down in the 1st and pick up a 2nd.

I'm just a firm believer in building through the draft. No way would I do that deal, though Shepherd is talented and I'd like to have him. If we had our 2nd, I'd be singing a different tune. Also - you can't just snap your fingers and trade down in the first and pick up a 2nd rounder. We tried to do it last year, no takers. I'm sure we'll try to do it again.

No dice. Looks like he has a durability issue. Only one complete season since 2003.

Would you trade Sage for a 3rd & use it to pick up Sheppard? I would be all for this.

No. Sage is more of a 2nd than a 3rd. And if we can get a better value by only using our 3rd and still having another pick, we can get a lot more from this.

You know what though I think we have pretty good chances of getting him. Sage proved himself as good QB and we could trade him and a third round. Hey every one is saying Mcnabb is over. Though they do have Kevin Kolb

there is no way they give up lito for just a third...heck if they do im all down for it meaning all we have to do is draft RB in round one and then go offense and defensive line the rest of the way

i tell ya what...lito sheppard is a solid corner...my first reaction is why trade for him when we can simply sign reeves...we would still have a 3rd round pick and be ok...grant it sheppard is a better corner but having the 3rd round pick is important
i don't agree with everyone that trading down in the 1st round is going to merritt us getting a 2nd round pick either...if you look at the value chart we would have to trade way way down in order to get that
and i'm still against trading sage no matter what the price

Lito is probably better than any of the corners in the draft, he's been to th epro bowl and is known to be a solid defender amongst top competition. It's like drafting McKelvin in round 3.

SEVERAL TEAMS INTERESTED IN SHEPPARD by Michael David Smith
It's only been 24 hours since the Philadelphia Eagles signed cornerback Asante Samuel, but they're already hearing from teams interested in trading for the cornerback Samuel replaced in the starting lineup.
A league source tells PFT that several teams are showing preliminary interest in trading for cornerback Lito Sheppard. Those teams include the Texans, Saints, Buccaneers, Browns, Rams and Jets.
A team can never have too many good cornerbacks, and the Eagles could choose to keep Sheppard, especially if they move right cornerback Sheldon Brown to safety. But given how much interest there is in Sheppard, it seems more likely that he'll be shipped elsewhere.

i think aj's right here...we just don't have enough picks to make this trade...smith and kube are interested in getting more picks not losing them

If *I* were running the Iggles I'd keep all three. Move Brown to safety and call it a day. When teams run 3 WRs at 'em, bring Mikell back in to play safety and let Brown cover the slot guy.
