Just heard this. Gonna see if I can find it somewhere else. If DRC, Talib or Mike Jenkins are there, we better take them...

that sucks.
Totally expected with the Reeves signing. It will be interesting to compare the contracts.

Watching NFL N right now.... sure sounds like Mike Turner is going to be a Falcon before the weekend's out. He's been there all weekend, wining and dining with Mr. Home Depot. Of course, he could pull a Hadnot.

I almost feel bad because he did a solid job, but if we can improve in anyway as far the secondary goes, I won't lose sleep over his departure. Best of luck to Von Hutchins outside of Texans games.

I think this is a significant loss. He was great to have for depth, because he could play corner and safety... and according to the Chronicle, his contract isn't that big at all. It makes me wonder why he was so quick to leave Houston. It sure seems like he didn't want to be here, because it's not like he got overpaid.

"The Texans lost Von Hutchins to the Atlanta Falcons today. He received a four year deal for $9 million, with $2.35 million up front in bonus money."
Hutchins isn't an all-pro, and he's not a sure-starter... but really - are there cornerbacks in free agency that we can afford that are better than he is? I'm not convinced of that.

I sure would like to see some incoming F/As on the home front. I know we signed Reeves, but geez, not excactly news conference material.

Well, personally i am okay with waiting. The longer you make these guys sweat the less they will take.
Plus...even though Harry Williams (who) and Reeves are all that conversationwise....the Andre Davis was great news. One more thing...don't think that our front office isn't working on all angles on players they see fitting our system and our price range.
Anyone remember the Redskins a few years back...they hired every big gun they could and looked ot be a good team...."on paper" only.
Spending money....just to get someone...doesn't always work out. Especially if you are making decisions in a hurry up pressure situation. Our guys know the score better than i do...and i know they are trying to keep the best of what we have and scout out some surprises.
Patience isn't fun but i think the front office is hammering out plans right now.
I'm guessing 16 hours days 7 days a week. This is crunch time and they have to be doing stuff. We just don't hear about it until it's done.
Things are happening though...i can feel it. :D

Hopefully the FO already knows who they want to target by now, and hopefully those targeted won't be snached up by other teams by the time we decide to make a move. The good ones that will make an impact on our team aren't going to last long.
I don't understand the Von Hutchins deal. We let a proven part of our secondary leave and added a more expensive piece with less talent. Go figure.

If you look at other teams highlights against us you will see hutchins is in on most of them.

no big deal, i was at ole miss when this guy played there in the secondary, he's not very good. we're gonna find someone in the first or third that's a much better prospect than hutchins. atlanta overpaid him

Yea congrats on the Atlanta Falcons signing another one of our most unimpressive corners for the second year in a row. Im sure Hutch and Louis Sanders make a dynamite tandem.
