K so we're about to sign Chris Brown, Jonathan Stewart needs surgery, and we're bringing in more CB's.

1. OT Chris Williams
Still #1 on my big board. He could be available if the Rams take Gholston which allows the Chiefs to take Long. Clady falls to Carolina, and the Bears take Mendenhall.

2. OT Branden Albert
This is looking like the pick. He's very athletic and mobile. Still has a ton of upside. Very good passblocker and he plays nasty. Fits the ZBS.

3. DE Derrick Harvey
We still need a passrusher opposite Mario. I put Albert above him because we still have Weaver under contract but we have no answer at LT.

4. CB Dominique Rodgers Cromartie
We're looking at DB's left and right and DE's are more valuable than CB's which is why DRC is #4.

5. LB Keith Rivers
If the Broncos take Albert, Panthers take Williams, Saints take DRC, and the Vikes take Harvey, then Rivers is the best talent that fits a position that we could use an upgrade.

6. DE Phillip Merling
Merling is a big guy who could switch sides with Mario during games to confuse OT's. He's essentially a younger more athletic Weaver. A run stuffer first that needs to develop his passrush technique.

7. CB Mike Jenkins
Solid cover guy but lacks ballskills and playmaking ability. He's a first rounder which is why he's here but I don't see us taking him.

8. OT Sam Baker
He fits the ZBS, but he's a 2nd rounder. However, with us filling needs left and right, he moves up the board because he fits a position of need.

9. CB Antoine Cason
Solid CB who could step in right away. Good overall ability but lacks significant upside.

10. LB Jerod Mayo
I really like him. Can play any LB spot and he's athletic and explosive.

1. OT Branden Albert
3. DB Terrell Thomas
4. LB Ezra Butler
5. RB Corey Boyd
6. DE Tommy Blake
7. CB Glenn Sharpe

Albert needs no explanation

Thomas fits a temporary need at CB and will move to FS down the road after Demps is gone.

Butler is a SLB in the NFL and is a very good blitzer. We've got Diles to play WLB.

We'll still draft a RB later. Green is good for 1 season and Brown is not the answer. Boyd is a power runner who could compliment either Walker or Taylor.

Blake will probably move up since he's gotten in shape and answered some questions about his character concerns.

Glenn Sharpe is a cover CB who falls because of injury concerns.

I really like DE Phillip Merling. He's a great pass rusher with size and strength. I wonder if we can trade down in the first, pick up a 2nd, and get Merling.

I might be completely out of the loop but since when does Stewart need surgery? Do you have a link? I'm not doubting you I'm just kinda confused.

Merling has more upside than his former teammate Gaines Adams. Expect him to go in the Top 10.

Stewart has turf toe - which can be a significant injury despite the silly name. Doctors are suggesting surgery and a 4-6 month recovery. The first thing I thought was if he ran a sub 4.5 with a bad toe, he might be even faster once he is 100% healthy. At 230 thats a scary thought.

another knock on Stewart was that some said he had a lack of lateral mobility. But one reason for that was that he had 2 ankle injuries right in a row and he was not confident enough to try and juke on them, even though he did play with the injuries which shows he is tough. I dont think they are the kind of thing that will be a constant problem, just the same kind of thing that Adrian Peterson had where they just happened to be consecutive injuries that made people hesitate.

I think Oregon was just putting Stewart in to soon.

CB and the secondary is the real need. With every FA signing this is brought more into focus.

I hope we are lucky enough to get Dominique Rogers-Cromartie in the first round. Cousin of that other Cromartie that had 9 Int's for S.D. last year.

ok first of all no way Chris Williams is there at 18...even if the Rams pass on Long he will probably go to Atlanta or Oakland...Clady is likely to go to the Chiefs if Long is gone or otherwise to Denver which means Williams goes to Carolina or Chicago

and Branden Albert is a GUARD

correction...he was a guard in COLLEGE

do some research on him...you'll find that alot of teams project him to LT...he filled in at LT at Virginia and was a 4 star LT recruit

so because we havent signed an OT, that means we dont need one?

1. we signed jacques reeves. with some coaching, he'll do better than he did in dallas, where he had no FS help over the top

2. dunta is ahead of schedule with his rehab. even if he has to sit out 8 games, he'll be back

3. with dunta almost certainly coming back, and with us signing reeves, do you double back and hand over 1st round money for a CB? thats like forking over a bunch of money until you find the right fit. if they werent confident that reeves could do a decent job, they would never have signed him. you dont sign and draft players until you find a good one. thats what puts you in cap trouble.

4. this draft is deep in CB's. we found bennett in the 4th round of a crappy CB draft, we can find one in the 3rd or later in this one.

1 thing i have to say is Jared Mayo is not worth 18th pick. We could trade down and still get this guy.
