Is he worth the risk Texan fans?

nope, more than likely he won't play this year.
I see him wearing black and silver next year. The Raiders have aging tackles and a history of taking chances on players like this.

Nope
He is not worth the risk at all. How stupid do you have to be? I mean he KNEW what the consequences were. I am on probation and I haven't touched an alcoholic beverage in almost a year. No alcohol consumption is a standard probation stipulation. As well as no adverse contact with law enforcement.

No way our front office goes near the Tank.

I am happy with the direction of our young defense, the last thing we need is a bad influence on our team.

If they call Dallas "americas team"
Cincy must be "Americas most wanted"

Agreed on both counts.
Glad he is off the team.
While I was glad they let him play (in my hopes he would make a difference in beating the Colts), I was also wondering why he was allowed to play by the Judge.
I guess he wanted the Colts to lose, as well, and thought old Tank was the key.

Correct me if im wrong, but the law has not charged Tank with DUI. The results of his blood test havent even come back yet. All he has been accused of is driving 40 mph in a 25 zone, and if he had been drinking, it wasn't enough to fail the breathalizer. I feel bad for him because unlike Pacman, Tanks actions dont make me think of him as a lowlife or a criminal. The parole violation that put him in jail for two months wasn't for harming anyone else or endagering anybody. The police executed a search and found firearms inside his private residence. I know that it violates probation, but I think its much different than shooting at someone. I hope somebody gives this guy another chance, it wouldn't be right for his career to be over just because he did 40 in a 25. Pacman deserves whatever he gets, but I dont put him and Tank on the same level, at least not yet, not because of this.

While I understand what you're saying, and to some extent, I agree - firing a guy because he got a traffic ticket IS a bit extreme - I'd be surprised if he gets picked up. The unfortunate fact is he's a marked man. I doubt if anyone, in today's "Modern Day NFL", wants to be associated with a "marked man".
Is it fair? I don't know. On the one hand, Tank should have realized, he's a marked man and any slip up might be his last. On the other hand, should driving 40 in a 25 zone be considered a slip up? I'd be willing to bet, that there's not a person on this board who's been driving any length of time that hasn't done that. Its not like he had guns in his car. That would have been an indication that he had slipped back into old habits - like Pacman going to a strip club less than a week after he said he would change his ways.
Is it fair? I don't know.

I tend to agree with misterpc on this one. I don’t think this recent event warrants the Bear’s firing him. Like ObsiWan said “I'd be willing to bet, that there's not a person on this board who's been driving any length of time that hasn't done that.”

I am with the minority on this one.
Finding some guns, and speeding, are not nearly as "criminal" as actually taking part in a shooting that leaves a man paralyzed for the rest of his life.
You can say that there are no degress of sin, but you can't say there are no degrees of crime. Different crimes have different levels of punishment. "Yes," he violated probation. So I guess the Bears figure he is going to jail or going to be under some form of house arrest/monitoring that will probably shorten his season with ANY team that might pick him up.
I think this is more about what the law system will do with Tank than it has to do with whether the Bears or another team wants him. I would say a number of teams would pounce on Tank...but then there's this whole situation of what the law system hands down to him. Can't pay a player who can't even play.
IMO, the Bears figure they (A) need to look good to Goodell by cutting a player deemed to be a troublemaker, and (B) were going to lose him anyway due to him probably going to jail, or being u nder house arrest, etc. It was a win-win for the Bears. They lost a good player, but it was out of their hands anyway.
Nobody picks him up because he violated probation. And this means he becomes unavailable to any team that might want him. I haven't read the story, but I am assuming form other poster's comments that he was, indeed, on probation correct? Once you are given that "pardon," you better use it wisely. They don't mess around with this sort of stuff...even for minor stuff like jay-walking.

Probation clearly states that its is a violation to have ANY adverse contact with law enforcement. He was arrested on suspicion of driving impaired. He could have refused a breathalizer. However he was not permitted to drive away by the police so obviously there was more there than just a speeding violation at work. He has not been charged with a DUI but he was arrested... That is a violation of probation... PERIOD... The bears told him that he was on a thin line. Obviously it was not a threat he took as seriously as the bears did. Sure it is unfortunate. I myself have a DUI on my record and let me just say all I drink at a bar is 1 beer and 5 sprites. You would think after jail time he would do the same and try everything in his power to not put himself in that position again. He made the mistake again and the bears did what they told him they would do. They released him.
