View Full Version : Prof. Carr & Prof. Moss teach EXCUSE MAKING 101

I just read this quote from Randy Moss about why he was underperforming, and how he feels that his NEW TEAM gives him a reason to perform at his best (as if the MILLIONS of dollars or a competitive desire wasn't enough).
I ALWAYS supported Carr...but his cheap shots post-trade get under my skin. No professional should do that to his old team.
Lesson #1 from Prof. Moss : "I think what I have done in the past as far as losing and sometimes getting out of control, I think it's just my competitive nature of wanting to win and helping my team get into a position to win," he said in a conference call after the trade to New England. "Like I said, losing sometimes can get contagious, but as a player I can't let that settle in, and I think that's one of the things that bothered me [in Oakland]. I didn't want it to set in and it didn't set in. It was just really nerve-racking that it was hard for me to win."
Can't wait to hear their excuses when we beat Carolina this season!
Go Texans!

Wishful thinking, but the Panthers won't lose their home opener to us.

Yes they will, I have the proof here at home, but I'm not giving it out for fear that the Panthers will somehow end up with it and change their gameplan.[:#]

Doubtful. They are too good.
"Doubtful. They are too good."
They were 8-8 last year and everyone talks about their bad year and,now-according to you,all of a sudden, they are too good....man, I hope Carr gets to play!!

OK, let me clarify:
They don't have to be "too good". They are just better than us.

So The Texans should just stay home that day?
The last time I checked the game is not played on a MB!
Go TEXANS!

Tell that to the Dallas Cowgirls, they are lot better than the Texans, when Cowgirls lost to the Texans in their first game.

If you looked at the game on paper obviously it favors the panthers but thankfully the game is played b/w the lines.
I think chemistry wise carolina will have an advantage. I think its going to take 3-4 weeks for our offense to gel and get to know each other in regular season mode so i'm not looking for big things early on.
As for Moss. He is right. Losing can be contagious which is why I think it was good for Moss to leave there and good for the Raiders to try and start fresh. Its on both ends.

You did know that we beat them the year they went to the SB, right? And, we have a 'real' QB now...too, I've got a 'gut' feeling you won't have an NFL fence to 'perch' on by the time that game rolls around...
...but guess who could be sitting in your room watching the game with you?

Sounds like the "real" QB must have led that win over the eventual Super Bowl Champs that year, just like he did last year against the Colts. I'm just looking forward to that first away game.

Tony Banks was the QB for both the Carolina (win) and New England (loss) games in 2003.

I hope Moss tanks games at New England like he did in Oakland. Will be interested to see if Bill will put up with his not finishing routes or pouting when Brady doesnt throw him the ball. You knew Carr was going say how much better protection he has now he is Carolina vs when he was in Houston...

True statement though. Can't blame him.

I don't care who we play, how good they are, or how motivated they would be, I just want to win!!!

yeah tell that to the defending NFL Champion, Indianapolis Colts.
Texans can beat anybody if they execute.
Carolina is most definately beatable on paper.
