When we picked Brown we didn't reach for him. You want proof of it? Next OT taken in the draft.......Mike Pollack at #59......who is projected to play center for the Colts. After Brown the next real OT prospect take was at pick #65.

Notice how after Brown was taken there was a big gap.........talent level dropped off big time! Brown was supposedly the tackle we wanted......he wouldn't have been there half way through the 2nd......if we would have even had a pick there.

I would like to start by saying I am completely satisfied by the pick and agree with it 100 percent.

However... lets pretend he would have been taken at 45... does that make it a reach at 26 if you are going for BPA?

However, maybe he was the Texans BPA available with their most pressing needs considered especially because we didn't have an early second, or any second for that matter, which is fine by me. However, if he had been taken at #18 (if we hadn't traded down), I think people would be very upset with him over Mendenhall.

Something I should have pointed out........the Rams where the next team to take a real OT prospect in the 3rd...........meaning they very well could have take Brown what 2 picks into the 2nd..........

Actually San Diego planned to take Brown with the very next pick at 27. All those people that said we could have waited to take him in the 2nd sometime... were wrong. The Chargers main goal was an OT... but we took the last good one. They finally took one in the 7th.

yeah thats awesome that we nabbed him when we could.
