The draft is over. UDFA still is in the air. Some trades may happen and some may be picked up after they have been cut. So give it your best shot at guessing our 2008 record....

And I know it is early, but gives us something to think about...

It is definetly early, but what the hell......

Texans will finish the 2008 as Super Bowl Champions! I wish.

10-6 We will have a rough start though with that tough schedual.

You aren't very confident in your team. I see you voted 5-6..what up wit that?

I hate disappointment.... I pick them lower than I hope they will do and that way when they do better, I am all smiles for a year or until the next draft... I really want them to win 10 games, but just don't see it happening yet...:D

One big thing to keep in mind..........our division could be totally different if the Colts are without Harrison for the entire year with legal issues.

Yeah they did ok without him last year but it was with injury as well. Loosing him and having to constantly deal with questions about Harrison and his potential legal problems could affect the team.

It is worth noting that all 3 of thier losses came when he was not in the lineup.

The offensive line play will be improved, the defensive line play has improved from the first few games last year, the linebackers have improved, the secondary is going to be an improvement, and the RB position has more depth. The receivers have more experience. Overall the team has improved and with new coaching in critical areas the Texans will win 10 or more games.

It is hard for me to judge without looking at the schedule, so here is a look at the schedule:

@ Steelers: Loss- I would love to say we win our opener, but a few years removed of being superbowl champs, especially with the way they have retooled over the offseason. It will be a great game, but I think the fact they have homefield and experience, we lose this one.

VS Ravens Win- I don't see them being much better than last year, we handle them in a way we handled the chiefs last year.

@ Titans Win- This is the year we sweep the Titans, no lucky crap this year against us. If we are healthy we are better than this team.

@ Jaguars Loss- I think we split with the Jags this year, I have confidence in our team, especially with our history of handeling the Jags, but they are a good team that just got better.

VS Colts Win- Colts I believe struggled last year due to all the injuries they had, at the same time I just don't think they are as focused as they were a few years back. I think this year we split with them as well

VS Dolphins Win- The dolphins will pick top 3 again next year. Possibily getting a franchise quarterback this time around

VS Lions- Win- They have nothing on defense, and you take away their passing game and we will be fine. Our pass rush will destroy their o line.

Bye

@ Vikings- Loss- Great defense, physical running game, homefield advantage. I think the Vikings are going to be the surprise team in the NFC this year, Adrian Peterson is a great player, and that defense just got stronger with Jared Allen providing needed pass rush.

VS Bengals- Win- See Eagles the year after the superbowl

@ Colts- Loss- Split.

@ Browns- Win- I think they will be a lot like the 49ers of this past year, a lot of preseason hype that translates into nothing, this team doesn't go anywhere until Brady Quinn takes over.

VS Jaguars- Win- Split.

@ Packers- Win- this team struggles greatly without Favre

VS Titans- Win- Sweep.

@ Raiders- Win- A lot of young talent, but lacking veteran leadership

VS Bears- Win- No offense at all.

Our 2008 Record:
12-4

I believe the AFC South will have 3 teams in the playoffs once again, This time the Texans and the Jags.

i am down for whatever it takes for us to have a winning record and not have the worst record in the devision. i am tired of bottom dwelling in the AFC south.

i'm going to say 12 until it comes true. Counting preseason we almost did it last year....:)

This season looks really tough!

Before the bye week: 4 wins (Ravens, @Titans, Dolphins, Lions), 3 losses (@Steelers, @Jags, Colts).

After the bye week: 6 wins (Bengals, @Browns, Jags, Titans, @Raiders, Bears), 3 losses (@Vikings, @Colts, @Packers).

We have to sweep the Titans and at least split with the Jags. If we can split with the Colts, that would be even better.

2006 Record: 6-10
2007 Record: 8-8
2008 Record: 10-6

We are moving in the right direction.

On paper we should be 8-8 your six losses plus the Jags and Browns, to be 10-6 we need to win 2-3 of those 8 games because we will lose one game this year we shouldn't

I know. I just couldn't predict 8-8 so I'm hoping that we get a couple of close wins.

Although for some reason I can't vote on this pole.....I will say 10. We've easily improved over last year, if just in the injuries finally being taken care of (other than Dunta). Depth is great, and the addition of Gibbs is worth a win to me. With a little luck and IMO a bad Titans/Jags draft, I will say 10 wins.

Man I would not count Aaron Rogers out just yet. He is very capable of leading the Packers to another 10+ win season. He is surrounded by alot of talent.

I would count that one as a loss. Also I think we lose to Pittsburgh, lose twice to Indy, lose to the Browns, and lose on the road against the Jags.

10-6

Just my opinion though. I would love to see us go into Lambeau and win, and I would love to see us beat Indy at home. I am sort of up in the air with those two games.
