I think the LT position got a ton of press and deservedly so... but I haven't heard who lined up at RG on the OL.

Has that information / a new depth chart been made public based on these sessions?

There was a chat with Megan Manful yesterday on chron.com,and that was one of the questions. It was Mike Brisiel who lined up with the first team. You can probably still read the chat transcript.

It should be Fred Weary.

Isn't Weary still injured?

Yeah he is... I think this is the first year we have massive quality depth at Oline

So we've got Brisel, Weary, Studdard and Charles Spencer as possible candidates for the RG spot. I'm think Studdard probably stays back as a backup (but a potentially good one). Assuming Weary and Spencer can go into training camp healthy enough to compete, there's going to be one serious battle at guard, and the team's going to better for it.

I wouldnt be so quick to count Studdard out. He is exactly the type of player that Gibbs likes despte his limitations.

I think what happens a lot of the time is that as Fans we realize that there needs to be a "FIX" at a position. And sometimes, we take a liking to certain player's potential.

I have heard people like Spencer, Studdard, Weary, and Briesel. I don't know who the best is. Obviously Spencer at one point in his career was being evaluated as the LT of the future. Then the injury happened, now he might be fighting for his NFL career.

But, after all I heard about Spencer, I'd like him to take the mandel at the RG. After all I hear about Studdard, maybe it's time to honestly put some competition to Chester Pitt.

But, heck there will be some kick butt depth if all of our analysis of potential are correct.

Winston - Spencer - Myers - Pitts - Brown

or

Winston - Weary - Myers - Spencer - Brown

or

etc...

the options are just sooo much fun to think about.

But, hopefully they give Shaub the time he needs to throw the ball.!!!!

Studdard would cut-block a DT's mom if the coach told him to.

From left to right: Brown, Spencer, Myers, Brisel, and Winston. I really don't care mush for Studdard after watching his play last year. And as for Pitts and Weary, well only time will tell how much longer they will be in a Texans uniform.

Studdard was thrown in an emergency situation from what I remember. At that time even Kubiak said he wasn't ready and actually played better than he had expected. That could very well just be positive PR spin, but the story remains very high on Studdard. Don't count him out on what he wasn't able to do last year.

the one thing i believe we're going to see from this o-line is a lot more consistancy

brown will probably take the starting job by the end of preseason
pitts is entrenched as the starter...he does a solid job and is on the border of being a pro bowl caliber guard
myers is our starter and looks to be exactly what coach gibbs wants
weary...personally this is the guy i thought was our best lineman last year...i believe he is healthy and can be the guard that gibbs loves
winston is our RT and i think he's going to make the pro bowl this year if he continues to develop like he has been

next guys who should be given a chance to start

1st i want to start with salaam...by far has been our best LT in history
2nd...i want to see what spencer can do at guard
3rd...brisiel played real well and i think will give weary some fierce competition

I hear that Spencer is still limping noticeably. I was hoping to see him at right guard, but it isn't looking good.

Who knows what the truth is. Lance Zierlein reported the limp but then again Spencer supposedly finished every individual drill with no swelling and no set-backs. Maybe Lance just doesn't know what a 340lb man walking looks like.

Some folks need to get a new weed dealer if they don't think Pitts is starting next year.

I never said Pitts wouldn't start, of course he will. However, he's been here since the beginning and yet is still an average Guard. I think that he's not someone the FO will be worried about cutting loose down the raod. I really don't know how many years he has on his contract, but I just don't think he has shown improvement over the years. At best he has been average! Not great and not Pro Bowl material...

Agreed on both counts. A 340lb man who hasn't run around on a football field in a long time due to a severe leg injury is bound to be sore as hell. A limp can be a sign of a problem or could simply mean that it hurts, because I'm sure it does.

Also agree on Pitts. He would have to completely fall apart in camp or beat a stripper. Pitts is solid, and as long as he doesn't have a problem blocking the way Gibbs likes then he'll start.

1. Duane Brown is starting material. Before Friday’s practice, Brown was told he would be lining up next to guard Chester Pitts and taking reps at left tackle with the first team. It was a baptism by fire for the rookie.

just sayin

Kubiak mentioned Weary would start at RG when he was healthy. But that the other guys could make good use of the reps. Spencer played on the 3rd string line at RG in minicamp(Kubes said it and there was video of it). Briesel was playing with the #1's at RG, but White and Studdard got nods before him at RG last year.

I think they are. This kid played outstanding last year. ...

Eslinger has never played in a regular season NFL game.
