good riddance. I've said it before and I'll say it again, true fans don't jump ship over one player.

I just wasted a few minutes reading that thread.

There was what- one - former Texans fan replying to that thread?

What I got out of the thread is exactly what I expected when I saw the Titans waiting to scoop up Vince at #3 - Austin people and Longhorn fans who really had no NFL loyalty being won over by Bud. Bud strengthened his foothold in Texas with this move, it's really no surprise.

That's not to say that this move didn't create a lot of internal conflict with Texans fans.

I'll admit - I don't think I have any real loyalty to Vince - but I need to be right about him. I said he was going to be great, and I don't like being wrong.

I'm a 6th year Texans season ticket holder who has been to every home game and watched every away game on TV. But I also have a big ego. Add in the history of between Bud and old Oilers fans like myself into that mix.

Bud was an opportunist, and McNair was his unwitting accomplice. That peeves me. But the faster the Texans become a winning team, the faster I'll get over it.

And let's face it, Houston is filled with fair weather fans. See, Titans @ Texans, 2006. No skin off my back. Make me angry, but what can you do.

Yeah, I was at that game and it made me sick seeing all those titans jerseys. It made me even sicker hearing the stadium erupt after Young ran it in to win the game. That was not a good day for me. No loyalty

I don't think it's really that dumb. It's a good way to keep trolls and spammers off the boards. You don't really have to "pay" to join the board. You just can't use a free e-mail service like hotmail. Most people get free e-mail accounts with whichever ISP that they use anyways. Like if you used comcast you could register with Zagen30@comcast.com since it's not a "free" provider. This way if someone is acting up or spamming you can ban the comcast e-mail address and theres less of a chance they will get another comcast address and re-register, But if you ban a hotmail account they can re-register as many of them as they want.
Official Team boards don't seem to have the same problems as other forums though, so it might be a little overkill. I used to have a Site and Forums for an online FPS game that me and some buddies used to play and after a few months the forums ended up with a lot of "spam bot" members who posted posts about adult sites, wanting you to buy cell phones, etc. Switched the board from accepting free e-mail address and they all went away.

After Pud and Fisher said they wouldn't have anything to say regarding pacman and his troubles, the team site took that to heart and eliminated all threads about pacman killing/raping/drugging, etc.
The official team site and they censor news about one of their players. [:^)]

You're getting just a little carried away, don'tcha think?

The Titans have picked up a few fans because of VY, just as Indy picked up some Tennessee fans when they drafted Peyton Manning. It's normal.
Just get your own house in order and your won't have to worry about it.

A few?
The Colts don't own Knoxville's tv market. The Titans own Austin's as long as VY and the Titans do well, and that's more than 600,000 tv households.
As long as VY and the Titans do well...... if they don't, the bandwagoners will blame Bud or Reinfeldt for not providing a supporting cast, renounce their undying loyalty for Tennessee's team and go back to watching the Big 12 on Saturday nights and sleeping late on Sundays..

If they jumped ship then their should be a law that they can't become fans once we start winning.

I root for Houston teams.....even if a player is from here in Houston.....if he is on the other team...he is the enemy....the opponent....GO TEXANS.....

I liked Young in college. He wasn't my favorite because I didn't go to UT, but what he did can't be understated in NCAA. And when we had the opportunity to draft him I was intrigued. But I wasn't overly disappointed when we passed on him although I knew that wasn't going to go over well in the media and with a large portion of the Texans fan base.
Then came the overtime loss to the Tacks in our building. I had a knot in my stomach after that game. No way I could be happy after that loss. To me that's the way a true fan should feel becausse our team got beat. I can understand how some fans are glad to see he played well but still felt bummed about losing to his team. I can respect that.
It's the one's that cheered and shouted, and wore Titans jerseys when they used to wear Texans jersesy. Those are the bandwagoners we are talking about in this thread. "I became a Titans fan when the Texans passed on Vince........" yada yada yada........fine, go ahead and leave and don't come back. Be a VY fan because your Texans fanship has been revoked.

See, Oakey, it's normal internet protocol to be able to back up accusations with some evidence such as a link to a news source, etc and you can expect to be called out on such things. So far, pacman has been involved in a few bar fights and some drug possession infractions - hardly "killing and raping" as
your post states.

But you're right, it's a free country. Feel free to post any asinine accusations you can think up and I'll do the same.
Watch this space for breaking news items regarding Kubiac's fondness for young boys and Mario's meth addiction. I'll expect you to prove them false.

Wow! You are full of the piss and vinegar aren't you Mr. Internet Protocol! [:D]
I'll admit my hatred of everything titans related went overboard with the pacman accusations of raping and killing...even though they're not completely out of the realm of possibility with his history.
And speaking of his history, while "internet protocol" demands I provide links to back up my claims, I find myself too lazy to do so. However, if "bar fights" that result in a man being paralyzed is no big deal to you, well then, you have much larger issues than can be resolved in this forum.
Oh yeah...opie...try typing in "pacman las vegas" into your Google search bar. I'm sure it will provide you with your need for facts.

Yes, I'm sure you're too "lazy" to back up claims that Pacman was "raping and killing." [:O]
It might be difficult to back up false statements.
Nobody said that a "man being paralyzed" is not a "big deal."
Rape, murder, paralysis, are all horrible things. However, that does not make them the same.

That being said, I hope at the very least, that pacman is out of the NFL and fades away so that we never have to hear or read about him again.

OK Texan fans, here's how it is...I'm going to pledge my allegance out loud for the next 60 years. I choose to be a Texan fan, the same way I choose to be a Spurs fan. Look here folks, I was ridiculed here in SA in the 90's for being a Spurs fan in SA (see MJ). When times were tough, you took the beatings, when times were good (like recently), you reap the rewards. It's only 5 years! We got a solid RB, a young but great defense, and a FRANCHISE QB that's going to take us to the promise land (aka winning season). Don't walk away! Sit tight and enjoy 2007. Things are fixing to get real....good (aka Kevin Fowler)...Football in Houston is BACK!
