I really found the trailer odd, considering VY is on the cover and they show Mario blowing him up on the opening. Enjoy I think we will all see it in real life this year many times.

Its probably EA's way of apologizing for the anti-Texans commercials they first aired with Reggie and Vince...

EA's able to see the future, and decided to spill the beans on what'll happen at the Titans @ Texans game [:D]
The animations look a lot smoother, and I'm happy that they put in one-handed grabs, but the number of them seemed a bit excessive.

They actually have them in '07, they're just very rare. I've been playing the game for almost a year.........and alot more recently and I just saw my first one handed grab by AJ in the back of the endzone (pretty much the TO catch in the trailer) a couple of months ago.
I'm like in the 2010 season so AJ is almost a 99 player across the boards (NFL Icon and other roles) now and makes crazy plays.........including one handed grabs

Oh, well, I didn't get 07, as EA angered me so much with how much they messed up 06. It didn't sound as if they tried to do anything really good for 07, so I said skip it, I'll wait for the year after. Hopefully APF 08 has kicked them into gear again, as they got incredibly lazy without real competition.
Of course, I still play 06 a fair amount, but I tend to do a lot more simming and dynasty-building than actual game playing, because playing the games tends to annoy me after a while because of how badly EA constructed them.
I mean, come on, how on earth do you not notice that human-controlled punt returns have no blocking in them? ANYONE who playtested it could find that out for him or herself, as you are almost guaranteed to return a punt at some point. Plus lousy blocking, unrealistic physics, faster players being caught/outrun by slower players, sliding across the field, impossibly high jumping, the list goes on and on. EA needs to make the higher difficulty levels harder due to the players actually playing better, not by giving them unfair advantages. All too often I say "that is physically impossible in the NFL" after the computer has pulled off something else to "make it harder." I want it more difficult without resorting to cheating.

Same here. AJ has done it twice for me and I just finished the 2014 season (my 5th SB title). Only 2 one handed catches in all of that time played is pretty rare. They are almost as rare as a good jump ball. I don't know what it is but I just can't seem to get my receivers to jump up over the defender to grab a ball.
AJ has been a 99 for me up until last season. Since he's an 11 yr vet his speed and acceleration has declined and now he's a 94, but he's still bad ***. He's one of the last 5 remaining true Texans I have on my team along with Demeco, Dunta, Mario, and Earl (he can absolutely rock someone with his big hits).
I have a tip for anyone that wants to utilize Mario's strengths a little more. He wasn't progressing fast enough for me and just didn't seem dominant enough in the first couple of seasons (true to life I guess). So here's what I did:
On obvious pass situations on 3rd and long, or when the opposing team uses 3, 4, or 5 WR sets, I come out in the 3-3-5 Nickel....two deep coverage with Demeco in shallow coverage in the middle and the rest man on man. I have Mario line up at the NT over center. As soon as the ball is snapped push down on the left stick and up on the right at the same time. It commits the defense to pass and 9 out of 10 times will allow him to shove the center aside and have a clean break into the backfield (when the QB is in shotgun hit the burst/shove button first, then up on the right stick as soon as he makes contact with the center, otherwise he will try to turn and drop into coverage).
Since using this formation Mario's sack totals and tackles for loss have gone way up. He now averages around 30-40 tackles and 15+ sacks per season and is an NFL Icon. It's also made him more effective in my normal 4-3 sets too. Try it if you want and let me know if you have the same success.

you see this is what happens when you over work your programmers and such. They have sloppy work and EA is known for this like the Aaron Brooks bug. This also happens when only one company has the exclusive rights and nobody else for competition. I always hated EA's Madden and loved the Sega's versions of the NFL games. I hope with the NFL pro football game comming out by Sega they will add the first person football engine in it like they did their last game before the exclusive rights thing happened. I hear now they want the NBA rights and MLB rights. The only way they can get the MLB rights is by hostile takeover (which is known by EA) over 2ksports Sega's company.
