7. Bob McNair, Texans
Like Snyder, McNair is an aggressive, personally invested owner who desperately wants to field a winning team. Unlike the Redskins' boss, McNair hasn't even come close to doing so.
Since the Texans joined the NFL in '02, there have been a lot of dubious decisions on key matters, from the stubborn insistence that David Carr was a franchise quarterback to the selection of Mario Williams over Reggie Bush and hometown hero Vince Young in the '06 draft. McNair, at the very least, deserves some blame for hiring the people who made those decisions.
That said, he has established a highly valued franchise in a market the NFL had abandoned. He also worked exceptionally hard on last year's revenue-sharing plan. And, on a self-serving note, McNair's may be the most media-friendly organization in the league.

Hard to believe he's ranked higher than the Colt's owner, Jim Irsay. Old man Irsay was an @$$hole but son Jimmy seems to be a good guy who takes care of his employees.
It kinda chaps me a bit to see Jerry Jones up at #2.

Well, "smart" and "best" dont always go hand in hand. He does have a passion for winning, but he just sticks his nose in where it doesn't belong.
That being said, if McNair had stuck his nose into the football operations, maybe he would have seen that Casserly and Capers were inept a lot sooner.

The Texans may have made some questionable decisions regarding personnel, but as far as running a profitable, classy organizations that Houston can be proud of, McNair should rank at the top of the list. On a side note, it's getting really old hearing about Vince and Reggie. Especially Reggie Bush. Teams are shying away from drafting a runningback #1 overall because of durability issues. It easier to find a good runningback in later rounds than defensive ends with the measurables that Mario has.

Yeah so is everybody but just imagine for a moment Reggie Bush in a Denver style running system or Vince Young on a Denver quality bootleg. Those are things of beauty.

No, you obviouosly do not know beauty when you see it. A thing of beauty is when Mario leaves an imprint of his helmet on vince and reggie's pads. I'm already feeling the butterflies

you know mcnair may have made some bad desicions but look at it this way,at least he don't come out on the field when the team is loosing and try to run the team, like some other coach i know. or bring in players that are known for causing problems..

I really don't see Bush and the "Denver style" running system a thing of beauty....... If the zone scheme and west coast offense in general its about picking up positive yards, 4 yards a time........up the middle and BETWEEN the tackles. Bush did not do that last year, Duece did. There were atleast 5 rookie runners last year that I can think of off the top of my head that had a better YPC avg. then Bush.
I'm not saying that he isn't a good player, but in this system the thing thats a beauty is you don't have to pay 50+ million dollars to a rb to have success in the running game.
With.....
Ahman Green
Ron Dayne
Chris Taylor
Darius Walker
Samkon Gada and
Wali Lundy
the Texans have more than enough talent in the backfield for alot cheaper price and in a Salary Cap era.............that is a thing of beauty.
When Houston is running the ball effectively and Mario is blowing up people in the backfield, people are going to look real supid for questioning why we didn't draft Reggie Bush.
