Wow! I just knew the Redskins couldn't go the whole offseason without blowing some $$ on a veteran. ;)

While they did need help pass rush wise, to go and grab Jason Taylor, who probably has 2-3 good years left in him?

And for Jason to go to a team that might not even make the playoffs?

Interesting trade nonetheless.

They just lost their starting end to injury. He got hurt on play 1 of day 1, so 9 hours later they announced they signed Jason Taylor. They had no choice.

what do you mean? The redskins made the playoffs last year, didn't they? I think they have a pretty good shot this year as well despite being in a tough division and all.

Miami just decided to have a re-building year, no way they do much without Taylor. Maybe 4 wins at best, we have a field day with them now.

Careful...that's exactly what was said about the Texans when we drafter Mario Williams and brought in Schaub.

Never underestimate an opponent...ever. The no-namers are the ones who create the biggest problems because they don't know to be intimidated. And remember, Miami had a good slew of draft picks.

I'm not saying the Texans shouldn't beat Miami, but I am saying you never know what can happen.

Last year Miami WAY underperformed, and if they play like they should've last season, they will be a reasonable team to play against. No, they aren't New England...but I think everyone in the NFL will be surprised at the stark contrast from last season to this in regards to Miami.

I'm surprised Dan Snyder doesn't try to bring Jim Brown out of retirement.

Well, I am 53 and Snyder called me up and asked me if I could give it a go this year. I politely declined of course due to prior commitments...:p
So I told him to call Miami and see if Taylor wanted a shot at it, and I guess it worked out well for them...

All I've got to say is, the training camp injuries better not happen to us.

Well they can trade Taylor but the question will be will he show or just retire. He wanted to go to one of the top teams and I'm not sure the Skins fall in that category. It was a good move by the Skins given the circumstances, but he MAY not want to play there.

I know Jason Taylor is going to the Redskins, but I think if the Texans try harde nough we can still get him in a Houston uniform by next season. I think Favre is still an option as well! :p

From what I read, http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/25769767/ , he looking forward to playing for the redskins.

“I love Miami (and) will always cherish my 11 years with the Dolphins,” Taylor said in a statement. “Having said that, I’m looking forward to meeting with Mr. Snyder and getting to know my new coaches and teammates. I’m just proud to be representing our nation’s capital as a Redskin.”

But, it seemed like a high price to pay for someone who had publicly stated that he intends to play just one more year so that he can pursue an acting career.

Redskins made some pretty big coaching changes this offseason. That alone can put a team back. Not to mention ANOTHER new offense for Jason Campbell to get used to.

This is definitely one team to be on the lookout for though.

I agree that the price was a little steep but if my team had made that trade then I can't say that I would be mad because I believe that it would give the Titans the best line in the league. There is no way that you could block KVB, Brown, Al and Taylor but alas it is just a pipe dream now.

More like 1 or 2.
