80 man training camp roster

Ok maybe i missed it somewhere but I usually check here often. We had to get rid of 4 more players by today and all i have seen is spencer and abbate being released. What about the other 2? I thought we were at 84 when we signed colvin, so that put us at 85? Shoot, I'm confused...

I saw on TV last night that the Patriots put 12 guys on physically unable to perform (PUP) status, including Wes Welker! It also stated that these players were eligible to be activated at any time. So it looked like a ploy for meeting the quota numbers. We could do the same. Do we need all of our veterans playing right now? We could continue to rest Andre Johnson until later while we get a good look at the rookies who are unkinown quantities at the moment. Oops! While I was typing this it was stated we had already reached the 80 number. Never Mind!

So it looked like a ploy for meeting the quota numbers. We could do the same. Do we need all of our veterans playing right now? We could continue to rest Andre Johnson until later while we get a good look at the rookies who are unkinown quantities at the moment. Oops! While I was typing this it was stated we had already reached the 80 number. Never Mind!

I think there Patriots are doing too much to not break the IR/injured rule. ;)

Not until after pre-season.

Aug. 26: cutdown to 75.

Aug. 30: cutdown to 53.

There used to be another interim cutdown to 65 but they did away with that.

Thanks! It seemed too simple to work that way but the Patriots always seem to be manipulating the intent of the regs. Look how they post Brady on their injured list every week with a bad shoulder, which is just silly, as a way of showing a little contempt for the purpose of the report.
