So I saw that Chris Taylor took reps at fullback today. I see this like it could mean trouble for Jameel Cook. Vunta Leech is our undoubted starter and a highly underated fullback. He's one of the better fullbacks in the league in my opinion. I could definitely see the Texans putting Taylor down as a fullback and cutting Jameel so that we can keep Ahman, Brown, Slaton, Walker and Taylor. I know that it's alot of Running backs but imagine if we could just pound the ball all day with fresh backs the entire time. We wouldn't have a 1000 yard runner for sure but I could definitely see our run game being top 10 if we just keep on rotating backs and following the hot hands. I think we should cut Cook and use Taylor as our reserve fullback. That way we can keep all 5 backs because I believe all of them can really offer something to our team. What do you guys think?

We've been talking about this months ago, and it is finally happening.

No worries bro, yeah it has been discussed. I think it works out the best that way like you said we can jam our roster full at the RB position, and see who does the best. I'm not certain we would carry all 4 at the RB position but we could send someone down to the practice squad who could be activated if the need arises. Any of you roster pros out there know what the chances are we would keep 4 RB's on the 53 man roster?

yeah with the awesome running backs we have I don't want any of them to be let go of.

Thing is though, by rotating the backs too much, they can't get into a rhythm of carries. While I would love to have them all, I would hope in the future to be only carrying 2 and at the most 3.
The way I see it in the future, we will probably have Slaton, Walker, and Taylor since Brown and Green are getting up there in mileage. And that's if we don't come across another runner from college in a 3-5 year timeframe.

According to these forums Taylor has a fumbling issue too... right AB? :p
Sorry, I just had to say it.

I would expect to see a solid everydown back in next year's draft or at least one that we could mold into the back of the teams future.

I talked about this a while ago. I had tried to remind everyone that Taylor could once again be tried at FB to releive Cook of his roster spot and then keep the othe 4 backs. Then people told me that last year when they talked about putting Taylor at FB they didnt mean it and they wouldnt do it this year. Luckily it look is like they will. RBs and LBs are good players to keep around for special teams, so having one extra lb or RB isnt a big deal. I still dont know how I would pick between all our RB's at this point. I want to keep them all. If we keep Brown though, it looks like DW might end up on th practice squad again, which is scary becaue then he might get snatched up. I still think Brown could be somethin special if healthy, Ahman is a proboler if healthy, Taylor I like just becaus of the browns game and how Kubiak has talked about him, Slaton...well hes a 3rd draft pick, and DW because I think he is the second coming of DD and has fantastic vision, If he could get super strong, he could be like maurice jones drew. I just dont know how you cut one of those guys.
