With all the running backs the Texan's have brought in to training camp, it kind of makes me wonder... I know they see the same things we do, no running game to speak of. I mean when we speak of the Texan's running game and get all excited over what the Train did, you know something had to give... So it will be interesting to see who will make the grade and who will make it to the unemployment line... I have no idea which way this will go, but I am happy to see that they recognize there is a problem and trying to fix it by competition...

Will Green be the starter?
Will Brown be cut?
Will Slayton be a huge surprise?

More questions than answers right now...

Bell is in the fold now...so it's an open race. Green has the tools, but is he too old?

Brown is hurt and not doing jack.

Slaton looks good...but how good.

Taylor has been pretty good.

Walker is slowly becoming a Kubes fav.

Bell jist signed and has experence in the offence(ZBS) and could take Browns spot.

PLUS Brown has been playing FULLBACK.

(Can you spell "gone pecan" Jameel Cook?)

Brown has been playing FB? I thought it was Taylor at FB.

It is Taylor at FB. Brown is at RB, but has yet to see the field with his injury.

NO... NOT BROWN (I screwed up and said Brown can play fullback.) I meant BELL has been playing FULLBACK at Denver last year instead of Tailback like his rookie and sophmore season. This means Taylor and BELL can cover the Tailback AND FB position potentially making Jameel Cook disposable. (Man, Kubiak has a lot of options!)

Yep, and Walker maybe at or near the top of his KEEP LIST. I have yet to see him make 1 remark bad about him. He is raving on him.

What about him? He wasnt signed. He was only brought in the worked out, instead they opted for former Bronco Mike Bell and signed him.

5 RB's on opening day roster? I don't know. But like Kubes says, it's a good problem to have. I guess you could have Green, Walker, Slaton and Bell at TB, and Leach and Taylor at FB. Bye Mr.Cook and take "I didn't practice" Brown with ya. Man Our whole roster sure is going to look good. That final 53 is gonna come with some tough decisions and cuts to be made.

Yeah it looks like Brown may be out the door if he doesnt get back on the field soon and may be in jeopardy of being cut.

"(UPDATE: Friday, August 1) - According to the Chronicle and the Texans, Texans coach Gary Kubiak says he's "keeping his fingers crossed" that RB Chris Brown will return in a few days from which he is suffering from back spasms. "When I saw watching him jog, I would still think he's a few days away at least," Kubiak said. Houston has already adjusted by signing RB Mike Bell. Brown is in danger of losing his roster spot if his recovery takes too long. "

It reminds me of when the Oilers were using Mike Rozier, Alonzo Highsmith, Allen Pinkett & Lorzenzo White. It worked out pretty well. I remember some running backs were better than others depending the situation. Lorenzo White was the only running back who could run well in the snow. He was used to the snow because he went to Michigan State and his enormous feet were like snowshoes.

It's nice to have versatility in the backfield.

It looks right now like we will have a running back by committee approach. The "old" pro Green will start but be spelled a lot. Judging by the camp quotes, Taylor, Slaton and Walker are going to be on the squad, too. Taylor may be designated as a full back/tail back. Kubiak really sounds wi****l about Brown, but if he can't make it on the field and show something soon we will keep Bell, who has played some full back and is a special teams guy. That means five backs, but IMO Walker would be snatched up if we tried to put him on the practice squad.

I was at TC this morning and noticed Bell came up limping and grabbing his hammy after turning the corner on one of the first plays from scrimmage. I didn't see him participate the rest of the morning. Anyone know his status?
