Has anybody seen this. Apparently Steve Smith and Ken Lucas got into a scuffle at TC. Smith was kicked out of practice for it. Ken Lucas had an ice pack around his eye.

I thought Lucas might of been mad for perhaps not being able to cover Smith, haha, but then from what I read, it looks like Smith started it. Supposedly he has a history of angry outbursts.

Thats right, Panthers got him for 2 games.

From NFL.com
... The melee came after both players had taken off their helmets in a break for starters during a special teams drill. It was unclear what provoked the fight. While the two have routinely jawed at each other in practice since Lucas signed with Carolina in 2005, they've never come to blows in view of reporters.

As a veteran Steve Smith should have known better.

Not the first time he did this. I heard on the radio he did the same type of thing 6 years ago and messed up someones face. He deserves his suspension.

Is he beyond havin criminal charges filed on him for assault? ... I can guarantee you sure as hell if I do that at my job ASIDE of being fired, HPD would definitley be involved & charges sought. Whys he any different?

It's up to Lucas to file charges if he wants to. We don't know what happened, maybe he was making a joke and just hit a nerve. He may have, or feel like, he provoked Smith.

You're so right. I never thought of it that way...

Not likely ... these 2 have a past history of jawin one another, prolly from playin against one another on seperate teams ... or thats what I read in an NFL.com story anyhow.
