Ok... usually i dont post useless threads like this one... but word out that cribbs is looking to a hester-like contract... 40 million for a special teamer is just bolonie!!! He is not even as good as Hester... if he would've put up the same stats but played on a losing team, he would not even be considered a top 10 player at his POSITION(what position)... At least hester forces good field position for his team... other teams weren't even afraid of Cribbs... Hester has i believe 6+ punt returns in his career (12 total), cribbs has 1 TOTAL punt return in his f'in career...

Ha yeah good point. I dont think he deserves it. Yes he is an ok return man, but obviously not a good enough WR, which is his true position.

Don't be so quick to judge - he is a kick (not punt) return specialist, not a WO. He does return punts too, but he is much more of a kick return guy. Last year he racked up 1809 yards on kick returns with 2 TD. Two previous years were 1494 and 1094 yards with 1 TD each year. He may not get in the end zone as often, but averaging well over 1000 yds of kick returns each year is pretty special.
By comparison Hester had 934 and 528 yds in kickoff returns the past 2 years with 2 TDs each year.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Cribbs deserves $40 mil either, but he is a very dangerous return man.

you also need to take this under consideration... Hester has a great defense that barely gives up point... Teams usually score on will against the browns... so he gets more opportunity to return kicks

Last year:
Cribbs - 1809 yds on 59 kick returns yields a 30.7 yd avg, 2 TDs
- 405 yds on 30 punt returns yields a 13.5 yd avg, 1 TD
Hester - 934 yds on 43 kick returns yields a 21.7 yd avg, 2 TDs
- 651 yds on 42 punt returns yields a 15.5 yd avg, 4 TDs
Hester seems to have nose for the end zone, but other than that, they're pretty equal.
Oh, and BTW the Bears gave up 348 total points last year, which was 16th in the league, right smack in the middle. Their defense isn't as good as it used to be. The Browns defense gave up 382 total points, 21st in the league.
And just FYI: the Texans were tied for 22nd with the Ravens (another defense that's not as good as it used to be) with 384 pts.

Very well said.
Cribbs is also a special teamer who makes tackles and leads the ST in tackles on the Browns.
