That's too bad, my condolences to his family.

This should allow a rookie wage scale to be put in place sooner though.

yeah i heard on sirius .....all day.

still as frustrated as i am with sirius, my condolences to his family. He was a great football player and from the 24 hour reporting on him i hear he was also a honest and good person.

Growing up in the 60's and 70's, Oakland was my afternoon game. I loved to watch Upshaw on the pull/trap and just pound people. The Raiders were amazing back then. Everyone who played since his tenure began should be grateful for what he has accomplished in his career. Like it or not, it is people like him, Al Davis, Lamar Hunt Bud Adams (ugh) that really made this merger work with the NFL and got things to be what they are today. A true legend he was, and I don't think he got the respect he deserved the last few years. Just be happy for the old AFL. I met Tagliabu once at a dinner in Boston, and his one of his difficult decisions with Rozelle was the free agency concept. This ultimately made the league better and more profitable for all, but he regretted the greed all around, from all involved.
