With final cuts done, I am anticipating that our GM is scouring the free agent pool with an idea to improve our weak areas. If I were GM, these would be the players I would sign to the roster and why:
1. Darius Walker-Has shown he can produce in the regular season. Knows the offense. Is reliable though not explosive. Though he won't get the large gainers, he always seems to get positive yards on every run. Like Ron Dayne, except leaner and a bit faster.
2. Deltha O’Neal-Negatives include a DUI. Former Bronco, so he would get consideration. A bit older, but better at this stage in his career than most of the Texans' corners.
3. Dan Bazuin-Negatives include two knee surgeries. Never has played in the regular season. However, was highly regarded in the 2007(?) draft and compared to Patrick Kerney. Defensive ends are hard to come by. If he overcomes injuries can develop into a contributor (see Kyle Vanden Bosch.)
4. Fernando Bryant-see Deltha O'Neal.
5. Kenton Keith-Had an off-field incident in the offseason, but there is some talent there. Can fit in well with our offense, and has intimate knowledge of the Colts' offense.
6. Jerome McDougle-a bust, but when Weaver has a starting spot, it's worth a shot to find someone who can replace him.
any others?
