I couldn't here Mark Berman's report on Ray Childress. What was this about a contract or something with McNair? Could someone give me a link to this or something. i can't find a thing on it. :(

Ray Childress is a christmas ghost who brings faint vintage powder blue uniforms dancing across your television screen during a televised Texans game.
Oh... and he also sells trucks.

who is ray childress???
Ray was a defensive lineman at Texas A & M and an all pro defensive tackle for the Oilers in the mid 80's. He is one of the greatest Oiler players ever. After football, he bought the Lawrence Marshall auto delearship in Hempstead. He is as good a business man as he was a football player and is a class act.
He's also been a minority owner of the team, or 'limited partner' as the Texans like to call it, from the get-go.

Bah. I was hoping they were going to cut a deal for cloning rights or something. Ray was a force of freaking nature.

I wander if the Texans did something that made the two investors upset and therfore they decided to leave?

maybe it was placing Darius Walker on the practice squad? :D
Yeah, it made me question why did he back out of the investment group. That is weird.
With Fertitta it was definitely the perception of impropriety thing (owners of NFL teams owning casinos) but I haven't seen/heard anything about why Ray wanted out.

Fingers? He owns Lawerence Marshall car dealership out in Hempstead. Never heard he had investments in Fingers....
I posted this way early tongue in cheek. He did commercials for Fingers for years. Simply said, Ray is a salesman and **** good at it. I've met Mr. Childress a few times in the past. He is layed back and genuine.

traditional investment markets are down. Perhaps he is cash-flow strapped. 6-wheeled diesel trucks at $5 per gallon clobberred him. Texans is a top 2-3 franchise....good sell.
