He seems to be disappearing these days. His play has been very disappointing.

What I thought. If he does not pick it up soon you will hear the dreaded word: bust

I am still leaning toward the dreaded words of... "he is young and needs to mature." I think he will turn around someday... hopefully sooner rather than later.

Amobi has been a ghost but he will need more seasons to mature, thats what happens when u draft a kid.

Does that mean you are agreeing with me or just restating it?

With him not being there on Sundays its forcing Mario to be even more all alone then he already is and teams will not respect the other 3 anymore and just focus all their attention on Mario. This was exactly why we drafted Amobi. It wasn't for him to be this superstar, Tommie Harris DT, it was to be a guy who could get consistent pressure up the middle and force offensive lines to work him and to give Mario more one on one match ups. Well, that hasn't happened and Mario seems to be by himself every game.

I dont think they are talking about sacks, but I may be wrong. Maybe something more like a push on the line to pressure the QB? I dont know, you'd have to ask them, or not?!

This guy def. not a bust. He'll come around. Our dline besides mario & okoye doesn't present any problem for opposing olines, if you can stop 1 of the 2 threats, we get chewed up, but this loss is on the whole team top to bottom.

Amobi isn't getting a push and is getting pushed off the LOS more often than a quality DT should. Whatever's going on with him, it needs to change soon because this is going on a stretch of about 10 consecutive games dating back from last year where he hasn't been a factor at all.
When you don't have a true pass rusher to go with Mario and your other starting DT is out, you need a guy like Amobi to make a better showing than he did today.

This has nothing ot do with sacks. He has just disappeared on the field. You rarely hear his name mentioned at all.
We drafted him very high and spent a lot of money on him. Is it too much to ask that he at least make some sort of presence felt in a game? I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but how long are we suppossed to wait for him to "develop"?

Maybe the fact that Amobi isn't developing has less to do with Amobi and more to do with the coaching staff that is being questioned lately. Maybe the coaches don't have it in them to coach up a player and make them better as well as the coaches defensive play calling abilities.

You may have just hit the nail on the head. If the coaching staff is to blame, just think what a beast Mario would be with a competent staff? Maybe he would kill people and scissor kick the moon.
