Ok if you want to stray from all of the negative threads you are in the right place. I know it wasn't a good game but there is some positives to come out of it. I mean did anyone watch Slaton today? If I remembered correctly the Tacks were supposed to have a great run D. Well Steve just got a new fan. I loved to see him fight for every extra yard he could and the quickness he brings to every down. 100+ yards in the first half! C'mon that is d@%* good! Well I am excited to see what he brings next week!

**** right. This should quiet up all that talk about third down back. He has proven to be a beast wrapped up in a small package.

Slaton was awesome. I have been complaining about our lack of a run game, but no more. I am happy with Slaton. I think he established that he is an everydown back. All he needs is to be consistent now.

We also avoided a lot of stupid penalties today.

hey keep in mind that with the Jacs beating the Colts today, thats 3 teams in the AFC south with 2 losses. The division is still wide open.

Slaton was awsome. he had almost half as many yards in one half than Green had in his entire 2007 season. steal of the '08 draft! too bad, he must've got tired in the second half.

Common guys, lets not forget Reeves. YES, Reeves, who opened our very first defensive play with the interception.

Yes.....Reeves.....lol:o

Hm, I was one of the few people who said Slaton wasn't only a 3rd down back in the beginning...a lot of people thought otherwise. I don't want to brag or anything, but...look who's right? :-P

I thought Daniels had a solid game those screen plays he founds some creases after his blocker was used up and got a few more yards as a result.

This one will surely be disputed.. but I thought D.C. Richard Smith did a god job. He left his comfort zone and blitzed more than a few times. I saw some pressure today. No sacks, but pressure.

I agree about slanton. I don't consider this next comment negative just a statement of fact. The O-line needs to step up and hopefully will next week against the Jags. Mostly the linebackers whose job it is to protect the quarterback, otherwise this next draft we need to find a QB who can run for his life.

come to think of it every time we draft a running back and say he will only be a 3rd down back he becomes our franchise back .......oh and their first inital is the same as their last

i am surprised no one is mentioning Owen "freaking " Daniels. he played great . How many plays over 20 yards did he have. He made play after play, unlike our probowl receiver..

I agree. OD always comes to play. He is as much an All-Pro as anyone on the team.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR! At least that woudl be nice if he has a break-out year. That would allow us to pick up a large bruiser back to give us a powerful 1-2 punch!

I agree 100%. I think he had a fire lit under his butt by the FO to get pressur eon the QB and stop playing it safe hoping the front 4 can get the needed pressure alone.

The CB blitz was awesome and I hope we see more of it. Collins just tossed the ball our when he saw that. :)

I don't want this to sound like a negative post, because I LOVE this guy

he is an amazing back and I think he is our new RB.

(possible bad post)

but this was his first 100 yard game, I already think he's great, but I still want to see more production out of him before i'm 100% sold on this guy.

btw i'm 99.9% sold, I just want 1 more 100 yard game :D

I don't think its negative. I think you are saying he had a great game and the potential is there. However potential doesn't make it happen in this league. I don't like having a guy that can't push a pile be the main guy but that's me. Slaton gets in the endzone and that is alright by me.

I have to admit that Slaton is better (so far) than what I thought, and Brown is looking pretty good for a rook with two games under his belt. Toss in the guys he has faced, and he has done real well. Good to see Jacoby hold onto the ball and remember which way to run once he had it. AD made a real nice catch too. Walters is trying real hard..... The defense played a good second half.... our cheerleaders are so much better looking than the Titans!

Think I covered it....

I agree. Were their cheerleaders wearing t-shirts? I could have sworn seeing them wear t-shirts. If there is a t-shirt worn on a cheerleader it better be covered with water.

yeah on one or two shots they had on tshirts, but it was to cover up the beer bellies they had!

our defense played good but the offense wouldn't help... Reeves was okay and outperformed Bennett sadly... and thats not saying much

I saw Harrisson get some PT in 2nd half. This could be something to keep an eye on. Demps is OK but we need some speed @ FS spot. "Hold'em" Moulden made a great special teams play. He's slowly starting to make plays & might be giving more oppoutunities!!

I thought one reason the D got better against the run was Okam. he was solid in the middle so I gotta say,
Slaton, Daniels, Okam

Slaton did good, but I don't agree. Slaton had 18 carries for 116 yards. His first 9 carries he had 104 yards (all in the first half), his last 9 carries he had 12 yards (all in the second half). He either got tired, only did good for a couple of carries or the Titans started paying attention to him.

Now to stay positive. I liked seeing Reeves get his first int as a Texan. Diles got a forced fumble, which Demeco recovered. I also believe we would have won this game had a few plays gone our way (the two tds AJ dropped) or if Schaub had played better.

Slaton was of course the biggest positive for the day.

O-line wasn't great but they weren't horrible either. They gave Schuab time quite often but I think once Schuab threw his first pick, he started second guessing himself. That led to him holding the ball longer and only settling for short routes which they shut down once they knew he ditched the more timing routes down the field. I hope he rights his ship or we'll be chanting Sage's name soon.

Linebacker play was good, but I'd like to see a little more out of Greenwood, but over all good. I'd like to know when we'll get to see Adibi. Is he still hurt? Diles was pretty good. A couple of times I saw he was out of position and he did get faked out on a couple play-actions. Demeco was his normal self.

Secondary was what we expected congrats to Reeves for getting his first pick as a Texan.

D-line will improve once Okam gets more PT. He was a nice plug up the middle. And that was a nice surprise seeing Mario at linebacker.

Over all a dismal performance but there were a few bright spots. But now we jus need to learn from our mistakes and make proper adjustments. It's a long season and we just have to keep the faith.

And Slaton's performance is exactly why I was saying we should draft and him and when we draft him I immediately adopted him before we had even sign him.. Good Job Slaton..
