View Full Version : Is It Time to Hit the Panic Button Already?

Yesterday was a very disappointing day for the Texans. This is the Titans we played and we made them look like Super Bowl contenders. There is no reason we should be 2-11 lifetime against Buds team. Schaub looks lost and I am ready to see Sage starting games. Forget the two second rounders. A.J. was dropping passes he should have caught. Kubes - Probably the WORST coaching episode I have ever witnessed. We were outcoached, outplayed and I am already seeing the same old Houston texans we are all too familiar with from the years past. Very disappointing as a season ticket holder for five years. We are just not looking a good team and I have seen nothing but bad football so far. Yeah - I know it is only our second game, but come on.... Kubes should have this team ready by now.

Kudos to Slaton. He was the only ray of hope I saw from this team yesterday and our punter looked good as usual too. He gets plenty of practice though.

I don't understand how teams like Atlanta and Miami all seem much better prepared for this season than the Texans considering where they were last year. Not saying that either will win a SB this year, but both teams are playing solid football and look eons ahead of us.

Yes it is time to do that.

Only 14 games left!

The time to hit the panic button was when we did nothing in the offseason to improve the team, and began the season hoping that Ahman Green would be our featured RB behind Alex Gibbs' magical offensive line.

But there was too much red kool-aid being consumed.

To the point, constructive and the assessment of the team is right on (except the Sage thing) without being a turd.....thanks.

What r u talking about? The Atlanta won against the two weakest team in the nfl: the KC and the Lions . We played against the Steelers n the Titans. Not the same, not even close

Everyone will be calling for Richard Smith's head. Can we add Kyle Shanahan to the got to go list? Who cares about the NFL Legacy Program and who's daddy did stuff in the past. Can we PLEASE TRY something different and not the "same old crappy play calling on a different crappy day?" Lets see.. We run the ball on first down and then Schaub drops back 5 yards on second down and can't even hit his routes. Maybe if we weren't so predictable, we would convert more 3rd downs.

Last year they would have lost to those same teams. They also have a rookie QB leading their team.

They stepped up.

And if we converted 3rd downs, we wouldnt have to go for it on 4th downs. Ahh its all coming back to me now

Because the Falcons know how evaluate talent (#1 pick QB Matt Ryan), they know how to get the best side of a trade (Matt Schaub for two high picks), and they are willing to sign free agents that we could have had (Michael Turner).

It IS that simple.

Curtis Lofton(This years second round pick), Jamaal Anderson(DE)(swap of first round picks), and Justin Blalock(G)(last years 2nd round pick).
I think thats right, then again maybe not.
Imagine had we kept our picks, they would of had Schaub, not drafted Ryan, and we would of got who? I wonder...

Press the panic button???

NO WAY!!! It's two games into the season and both losses came to teams in top 7 of NFL. We are a middle of the pack team and end result is what it is.

Eventhough we are an average team right now, it does not mean we have to accept this mediocrity and the Texans need to improve in some way everyday: practice, meetings, !@#$ the team dinner if need be but a little faith goes a long way. We have a talented nucleus of young players that given time have a lot of winning in their future, if they put in the work (& a few more upgraded positions).:D

Panic Button.....Not just yet. Sunday is a big game and basically the season. On sunday there are no moral victories, if they lose to the J'ville the playoffs is pretty much gone. 10 wins is probably the minimum for a wildcard and if the texans start out 0-3 I doubt they will finish 10-3 in the remaining games. So no panic button just yet because the NYG started 0-2 last year and stopped a 4th and goal at the 1 with 3 seconds left to preserve a win and prevented going down 0-3. We all know what happened after that so it can happen although its highly unlikely.

If the Texans get their asses handed to them by the Jaguars and the Colts the way they did by the Steelers and the Titans, then I say its time to flush this turd of a season.

I bought into the hype that they were going to be better that mediocre, or 8-8 like last year and have their first winning season. If they said we still have a lot of work to do that would be one thing, but they were propping themselves up as contenders. As Gary Kubiak said, "Its time to believe in now."

So far, all they've shown about "now" is that its time for another *** kicking.

I came in thinking 1-4 over the first 5, and probably 7-9, 8-8 for the season. No way I bought into the hype but I sure heard it. Although we have some good/great players, I'm not sold on ZBs, D-cordinator, and now Kubiak. Kubiak needs to do what he thinks he needs to do to right this ship and we'll see how the season winds up.

He came out really talking up the team, talking about playoffs and a winning record this year so it's no wonder we're all a little upset. The bottom line for me, what really gets my goat is how absolutely unprepared for Pittsburg we were and to follow it up 2 weeks later with a sloppy effort against Tenn.

To me, that's all about the coaching. I'm starting to think maybe Kubiak would make a better OC. He just appears lost as a HC. It's not working and he doesn't see it. He's not motivating anyone. Even Mario was supposed to be a beast this year by all accounts we heard from TC. He's been real quiet on and off the field.

Anyway IMO, Kubs has this year to show us. I'll be commenting all the way, but he has this year, and if we take a step back he should be gone.

You deserve better as a ticket holder for 5 years.

As much as I hate the Cowgirls, what is it about Jerry? If his team isn't winning, he does something about it.

Each year should begin with the fans pumped up. Three years is long enough for Kubiak.

Cowher, anyone?

After an 0-3 start, I think there is validity to hitting the panic button now. Looks like ANOTHER year of having a losing record. I am tired of being the chumps of the AFC South.

Nope, it's time to hit another button.

http://dessertyears.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/easy-button.jpg

I think Kubiak may have already pressed it too.

4 straight home games? Followed by a winnable game @ Minnesota and then hosting the Ravens? I can see us going 5-1 or even going on a 6 game winning streak in the next 6 games.

I said at 0-3 they should hit the panic button, thus this weekend's game is basically do or die. 0-4 and the season is basically over (playoff wise)

OK, I'm not too proud to admit I imbibed a little of that "win right out of the gate" KoolAid, but come on now folks, we got in a tailspin last year too, ya know for awhile, and we still ended up at 7-7. So it is way too premature to get your panties in a wad this soon. The injuries, we've had a few, don't seem to be as insurmountable as last year, so leave the light on for cryin' out loud.

Now if you want to come down on somebodies head, how about DC Richard Smith, whose defense has stunk it up these first 3 games. I say fire him and elevate Frank Bush.

COWHER? for headcoach?....didnt it take him 15 YEARS to win a superbowl. If KUBIAK had that much time, we,d win 3 or 4 IN A ROW:D....besides KUBIAKS A HOMEBOY.....and to me there aint nuttin better:D

I'm well into "panic mode"

Keeping Smith is on KubiaK. That tells me a whole lot about Kubiak's vision for the team.
