Why do you think the Texans do not go after proven talent in Players or coaches....Example Parcells,Johnson or Cowher.... Coaches who have proven they can win. Remember when the oilers got Buddy Ryan we had one of the top rated defenses in the NFL... and some sideline action also

Because 95% of the time the expensive FAs do not fullfill their expensive contracts unless they are still young. In the majority of cases the big names have an inflated price tag that they can never live up to. Once you signa big name you cannot fill the smaller holes that are still on your team.

When trying to build a team you do not sign one or two big names to try to turn your team into a winner. Kubes and Smith are building a team by fillinf as many holes as possible while not getting into salary cap issues.

People that think we just throw money at players and they will succeed on our team do not realize that lots of players will not just go to ANY team. Some players only want to play for a team that is already a playoff team.

Other players want to help build a team into a winner. Kubes and Smith are going after quality players thatw ill help them build toward a future of success.

The Oakland raiders threw away a ton of money in expensive signings for players with big contracts and they are not any closer to success than they were last season. Building takes time and the Texans are close to being the winner we are looking forward to watching.

AG was a mistake. I'd like to see us go after some big name players that are not injury prone or at the tail end of their careers (AG)
We've been hearing about building for the future for an awful long time now. I'm of the opinion that the future is now.

How came we did not go after bigger proven coaches after Dom Capers and yes there is something with the coach we have now. He is making mistakes a proven head coach would not of made

What coaches would you like for us to go after? At the time Capers seemed like a good hire because of his past expansion experience. Obviously that didn't work out. When we hired Kubiak, Parcels was still with the Cowboys and Cowher was still at Pittsburgh and neither would leave to come here. Yes it would be nice to get a hall of fame coach to come here but that is easy said than done, especially when your an expansion team or coming off a 2-14 season.

Bigtime, Just so you know, Jimmy Johnson was offered full control of the Texans organization prior to McNair hiring Kubiak. Johnson declined the offer because he is content with being retired as a coach and working as a television analyst. So, just keep that in mind. McNair does want to win, that's why he hired Dan Reeves as a consultant prior to the 2006 season. It was Reeves that suggested Kubiak as a head coach. Are those guys big time enough for you?

Actually no.... those are not big enough. We need hall of fame coaches that have already won bowls.. Maybe at least we could get the situation turned around... but why not try a little harder and make some offers to these hall of fame caoches that they would be crazy to turn down... Now i Know it is early in the season and I have faith in Kubiak to get this turned around... I am just saying if it does not turn out the way things are supposed ... we really need to go after coaches that are proven and have won superbowls..:cool:

Half of all NFL teams lose every week. Last year we beat some good teams and probably overachieved. This season, understandable heightened expectations, and we get some bad breaks and lose the games that, honestly, most fans expected to be tough games. Now, we're looking at big name head coaches. Stick to your guns, support your team, Kubiak is not the problem.

I am sticking to my guns..but this is a business as well as game you always have to be thinking of all situations... and right now looking at hall of fame coaches is one of them... For the most part houston teams have a rep for trying to build teams from the draft and unknown players ich is great... but when do we say why not go after the Big Name Players and Big Name Coaches.... and yes I know we have a few exceptions here in our great city but, I know you guys were happy when we Had Roger and Andy for the Stros and we went to the Series go after the Big Names and sell some tickets make more money for the franchise and get big name Players and become a winning team;)
