Looking at the number of games he has missed and some of his not so stellar performances since he has been with the texans has he been worth his pay and the two second round draft picks?

The guy gets injured last year and misses several games and then this year he has sucked for two of the three games he was in.Then he gets a tummy ache and sits the whole game on the sidelines while not looking so sick. So what's up with that?

Yeah, that guy like totally got hurt last year so he sucks! And this year he sucked like a whole lot! I mean it's already been 4 games into the season gosh! We should just bench him, kill sage and have Owen Daniels just do double duty as a QB/TE! YEAH! WHO'S WITH ME WE'RE GOING STREAKING IN THE QUAD!

How about bringing in Dante Culpepper in for a look?

Not only is he completely finished and attempts to play QB on what could be equated to knees made out of cake, he said in his retirement letter that he wouldn't play for a team that wouldn't let him be QB1.
There's no way that he would be able to outplay Joey Harrington at this point.
So what team do you root for petedy?

I don't think he's earned his pay necessarily, but it has absolutely everything to do with absolutely nothing so I really don't care. There aren't too many qb's in the league who are earning their pay.

Matt couldn't help the fact that he was ill on Saturday, but he recovered and was ready to play on Sunday. He was active and suited up. He warmed up and insisted that he could play.
The Coach made the decision to start Sage instead. What else do you suggest that Matt could have done?

I'm a Schaub guy (as everyone should be, QB battles and controversies are BAD FOR THE TEAM, STOP TRYING TO MAKE ONE!!!!), but no he has not been worth it yet due to injuries. Give the guy some time, and don't take a sample against 4 teams who have very good defenses and decide he sucks. The only one of those games THE TEAM played well was JAX and Schaub did fine that game.

He has definitiely not earned that type of money, but he is the clear choice above Sage.
I don't know if Schaub is franchise QB, but I know Sage isn't (yes, I thought this B4 Sunday).

So, it's stupid to point out facts that Schaub hasn't yet lived up to the hype ?Maybe in the future he will and then again maybe he'll be the same, injury prone. This goes to any player who hasn't yet produce. You just don't give them the big bucks until they show something that they deserve it.It is like any other job and that is you produce you reap the benefits.

Yeah, I like quarterbacks who can't figure out when to play balls out and when to play it safe. I like quarterbacks who can't seem to control their excitement and make safe decisions when you're nursing a lead.
I hate being this critical of Sage, because i think he's a good player. That was evident last week, but his inability to make smart decisions when a game is hanging in the balance is why he's the backup. If Schaub continues to not be able to stay on the field, then we need to look elsewhere, but I think he's gotten some bad luck. People are making this broad judgement that he can't stay healthy from one season. If he can stay healthy, I don't think there's any question that he's the better qb to start week in week out.

MATT plays in games( and i dont care who we are playin) and we get BLOWED OUT THE WATER....at least SAGE wins and keeps us in the game to the end....lol:D

That's completely not true. Sage may be able to move the ball better, but by your logic, it shouldn't matter who starts because the defense can't stop anybody.
Sage has shown he can play, I'm not contesting that, but he has also shown that he tries to force things when it's not necessary and makes some poor, poor decisions at times. That's why he's the backup dude. Well that and the fact that we didn't give up 2 second rounders for Sage.

At this point it doesn't really matter, you'll never win consistently with either of the two.

LMAO!!!!!
Come on, man. You know the answer on this one. No throwing stuff at me here, but the Texans were better off taking their chances w/ Sage after releasing Carr. At least they would have had more money left over to address other deficient areas of the team. JMO. I just hope McNair has learned from his QB payroll experience.

We may have gone with Rosenfels if he hadn't busted his hand up, but he did. He didn't even get a chance. You can't go into an offseason and not address the issue of not having a quarterback because one's has an injured throwing hand and one cannot play football for the life of him.
Rosenfels never really got his chance, because of that injury and because of the price we paid for Matt. I'm not sure we can consistently win with him or Matt though. We shall see though. I don't give a crap who ultimately gets the job as starting quarterback, I just want to win some freaking games!

I'm writing if Schaub has been worth it.Listen, Schaub has played three out of the four games and they are 0 and 4. Schaub is the team leader and he hasn't performed well until the last game he played, because he was getting heat from the public about his performance.Sage was going great until he had a brain fart in the middle of the 4th quarter that resulted in a Texans lost. When a team is o and 4 a lot of things has to be looked at right now including the coaching and the quarterbacking.

When a team is o and 4 a lot of things has to be looked at right now including the coaching and the quarterbacking.Let's look at those 2 bad games Schaub started. They were both against great defenses (Waay better than the Colts D who didn't even have their best player). The pittsburg game, Our defense had an atrocious game, Pitt scored 21 points in less than a quarter and a half, We couldn't get our running game going and we had to pass all game, and Pittsburg got to Matt 5 times also. So not exactly a recipe for succes, no matter who the QB.
The Tennessee game, Our defense got a turnover early which put us in great field position, but Andre couldn't hang on to a pass in the corner of the endzone(a recurring problem) so we had to settle for a FG. The rest of the game was more of the same, Schaub threw some really bad int's but there were alot of big passes that were dropped in that game also.,
Matt didn't play well, but neither did the entire team for those 2 games.

Amazing, as bad as the Texans have sucked this year so far, after reading this thread I am wondering who sucks worse the team or the fans. Dante Culpepper??? Really?? Do you people even watch football? Or is it something that you do while drinking cheap beer or sundays. Matt Schaub and a "tummy ache"? Apparently, it's hard to grasp a guy going to the hospital, from your couch, but get realistic. Maybe the silver lining around the Texans loosing is that it will eventually run some of the ignorant fake fans off of these boards. Remember when we didn't have football at all? Or when we had Bud Adams? - Committed Texans Fan, WIN OR LOOSE, Suck Or Not.

I don't usually know jack about what's going on with other teams unless we've played them lately. I only care about the Texans. Some fans mistakenly have much higher opinions of players on other teams because they don't watch them. It doesn't mean they are stupid, although they should probably try not talking about those things they know nothing about.
I assume Culpepper sux or something. I wouldn't know.

This one is easy. The answer is NO. They should have structured his contract different so that he had to either do well to make that much or make it to year 3 or 4 to make that kind of money. 13 TDs to 14 INT just doesn't scream top 10 QB with 14 games under his belt. The general rule is the QB needs to have a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. If we start seeing him play like he did against the Jags then my answer will change.

There is some structuring like that. Next year is his big pay day IF the Texans pick it up. Hopefully, they will make him earn it or not get it.

LOL, I think your are trying to put me in my place but the writing is so bad I can't tell for sure. Oh, BTW, regarding your previous post, #13 in total yards means we are better than 19 other teams, I guess maybe your are bad at math also. Best wishes and good luck on acquiring that GED.
