View Full Version : Going nowhere fast!! Am I missing something here???

Maybe I am missing something but I have heard a couple of things that have me dissapointed in the Texans.
First, I read that Bob McNair spoke glowingly about his team and the way it was prepared, coached and played in the past games. He said he was quite "happy" with what he has seen and sees no need to make changes. With this observation I am not sure if "Bobby" cares whether the Texans win or lose as long as those PSLs sell.
Secondly, I understand that Gary Kubiak chose his GM Rick Smith NOT the GM choosing the coach. I thought the owner was supposed to hire the GM and the GM chose the coach? If this is the case then we can pen personnell, performance and underperforming on GK.
Lastly, I saw that Petey Faggins will get the start over Fred Bennett against the Dolphins. It seems like Richard Smith was not happy with Bennett's play. If considers J. Reeves as the no.1 corner... it's a long season.
I love the Texans but I honestly can't call them a legitimate NFL team. I can't figure a rhyme or reason for the moves the Texans make.
Am I wrong about the Texans or are my concerns legitimate?

Thank you for taking off the rose colored glasses. I will admit that it looks like progress has been made, but there are way too many things going on for this team to feel like we are any where near play-off contender status.

I was shocked when they said they gone start Faggins in the opposite of Reeves. I know Bennett hasn't been playing well, but moving him into 3rd CB. What the heck is the Texans thinking? I'm sorry but I don't think the Texans want to win any games this year.....

I have noticed over the last couple games that Petey has outplayed Bennett. Bennett seems to have regressed but I don't know why. The main problem is not so much coverage (from what I can tell) but tackling.
I don't really agree with the assessment of the team. This team IS better than last year's we just have lost two very close games. Most folks thought we would start 2-3. If Sage hadn't messed up and If we win this weekend we would have been 2-3......exactly where most Texans fans thought we would be (even without factoring Ike and a 3 game away schedule whuch is brutal)

Reeves is keeping his job.

Well if we dont win this weekend then at 0-5 you have a team will prolly be 7-9 at best. Miami is looking good, they can run the ball and Penny hits all the short throws that Ronnie Brown sets him up for but nonetheless they are not better than the Texans. They are having fun and boy I wish we were.

I don't know if the Lions ever will they and Cleveland have been around since the inception of Football I believe.
Houston has many years to go to catch up to the Lions record.
