Kubs just named him the starter in place of bennett..bennett just had his best game of the season against indy and they bench him, say he isnt playing like he did last year...if players are being benched because they didnt play like they did last year then bench matt schaub, bench andre davis, bench andre johnson. i am thrilled that petey has improved and gets to play but comon. bennett WRECKED last year sure he had a bad first 2 games but didnt the entire team, aside from slaton and mario, suck the first 2 games. if you are going to bench any cb u bench reeves, move bennett up to reeves spot and faggins to bennetts old spot.

Didn't expect that at all. I wonder who will get the bench when D-Rob returns? Either way, if everyone keeps their game up, when D-Rob returns we should be pretty good and deep at the CB position.

Yea I was scratching my head on this one today too. Bennett looked pretty good in the last game. Not sure how both Faggins and Reeves justify a starting spot over him.

Hopefully if Reeves gets burnt all day tomorrow they will put Bennett and Petey in. GAWD I can't wait till Robinson is back so he can help Bennett again

Actually, I read somewhere that Kubiak benched (stopped starting him) last week. Bennett had his best game AFTER getting "benched." So did Okoye.
They're just trying to light a fire under these guys. Bennett will still get his playing time.

Bennett is pretty pissed.
I'm not going to lie, Reeves is a good corner. He has the athletic ability and can stick with his man. But he doesn't read the eyes and hands of the receiver and they make a big play. It is so shocking that this hasn't been fixed. If it doesn't I don't expect him to be startign anymore. And I think Faggins will have to prove big time he can be a starter for a few weeks. Because believe me when Bennett gets in their he will make some noise...

what the ****? kub has officially gone mad. makes it hard to still be a fan of this team. how about holding your offense, safteys and coaching staff responsible. this reminds me of the oilers in the early 90's
... this reminds me of the oilers in the early 90's
You mean when they went to the playoffs in '90, '91, '92, and '93?

I really don't think the Texans have depth at the CB position- they have quantity at CB but not quality.
I would consider depth to be when your players could go to another team and start for that team. J. Reeves nor P. Faggins could start for a NFL team other than the Lions or Rams.
What kinda confused me about Bennett's benching is the reasoning. They told him he was being benched because of his "poor play".
That makes me wonder what is J. Reeves doing to keep his job?!
... not holding anyone accountable, yes.
You mean when the Oilers fired their defensive coordinator after the '92 season and their head coach during the '94 season?
Not sure I follow the compare ... aside from two colossal chokes - with the more colossal one having a helluva lot more riding on it than the other.

Maybe we should bench Richard Smith!

Strange, there has to be more to the story than we know. Everyone seems to be throwing away from Bennett and picking on Reeves more often than not. I have a feeling Bennett will get plenty of playing time. Maybe this is just a way to give Faggins a deserved shot and light a fire under Bennett. Wish he would light a fire under Reeves to learn to read the receivers and turn around once in awhile. Miss ya Dunta.

Astounding, I dont think that is smart, but thats why I'm not the coach. If anyone should be replaced, it would have to be Reeves. Reeves is the one I see constantly being picked on deep down the field.

Didn't Bennett and Kubes get into a bit of an arguing match at some point this season?
If so, there may be something there.
Or they could be getting prepared for when Dunta comes back.

At first I didn't understand this move, now I do. We are going for a top 10 draft pick, watch pretty soon they are gong to bench Mario Demeco and Andre...

Bennett had his best game coming off the bench last week. What's the problem? They have been rotating in and out all year anyway.

I am not sure what the Texans saw in him anyway. He constantly got beat like a drum in Dallas. I guess the Texans missed that about him.
But what does it say about your talent evaluation when you make a move like this.
I think continuing to play J. Reeves at this point is a political move and a bit of a "ego trip" for Rick Smith and Kubiak. If Reeves gets benched then that opens up another round of questioning regarding personnell moves.
