This game is huge. We have a chance to climb out of the hole and get back to .500. At 4-4 they have a chance to make a run in the second half. If houston can force the vikings to pass the ball defensivley and continue to do what they are doing offensivley than they will have a chance to come out with the victory.

It is a big test for us. Not only because we are trying to .500 for a 2nd half playoff run, but because we are trying to keep the momentum of our winning streak. This week is going to be a real test, but if we play with attitude, take it to Minnesota for all 4 quarters, and avoid turnovers, we will win. I just try to keep remembering that the lowly Detroit Lions kept the Vikes to only 12 points a few weeks ago.

First I'd like to say, welcome to the boards.

I agree that this game is huge for both teams, and should breed some very competitive football. The potential of being 4-4 at the halfway point is hardly anything worth bragging about, but it's a far cry better than what we were staring at a month ago. This game will basically determine our momentum going into the second half of the season, and a winning streak can definately carry us into a run at the Wildcard.

However, if/when we do win this game we will still have a big road games against the Colts, Browns, and Packers. I feel that these are the games that will ultimately determine whether or not we have a chance of overcoming an 0-4 start to achieve a playoff birth.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the rest of our season, but this game could certainly change that. In that respect, I completely agree with this being the biggest road game we have.

Biggest game in franchise history period. with the season expectations, Ike and the rosencopter play it would be huge to get back to .500. The season would start over and we would contol our own destiny. I believe in order to make the playoffs the texans need to be at or near .500

As for the game i am having nightmares about AP breaking records against our very pourous defense. Our offense is great and as good as thier defense is is o is better, however i think they need to put up 30+ because of the sucky D. I hope they can do it or its gonna be a long day.

Our defense has struggled. We do actually do a decent job against the run. With the exception of Willie Parker. The real difference in the game is can our offense continue to be successfull against this defense. Its mostly our Oline vs their Dline.

The Vikings game has LESS importance than the others (except Chicago and Green Bay), the AFC match ups and Division match ups hold tie breakers, I would take losing all 3 NFC games if we could win the 6 AFC ones.

As far as scoring the Fannnation website agrees we need to put up more than 30, there prediction for fantasy stats is we lose 34-27, so they are predicting a high scoring game. I wonder what Detroit did that held them to 10 points, as we all Know the QB gave them the other two running out of bounds. What did Chicago do wrong as they surrendered 40 points to them the week after....

I am not saying to abandon the run, but the last 4 games have shown that we can score, and against Minny, that is what we will need. Pass, pass, pass till the safties are at least 15 yards off the line. As for Peterson, he has done nothing for the run game, that AJ hasn't done for the passing game. I say let's get into a planned shoot-out and blitz, pass blitz run blitz, and play for points.

Kubiak is going to go on with his game plan he's had since he arrived here. Running the ball for long sustaining drives and play action and 3 drop passes mixed in. Were going to run sweeps to the outside with Vonta leading the way for slaton to break out for 8-12 yard runs to include at least 1 big rip for 20+ yards. Green is going to get his share of carries running more to the inside to wear down on Vikings inside linemen. Were also going to be switching out players alot to keep our linemen fresh. The Vikings linebackers are very poor without Henderson there so with us getting past the front 4 we will be able to run well into the secondary. Their secondary is star studded but is struggling regardless. Were going to try to keep long sustaining drives to keep AP and the Vikings offense off the field so our defense can make the plays necessary to hold them down. If we are struggling with that then we will simply start passing more and just shred their secondary for a shootout. I think the score will be similar to the last couple games we played... Texans 28 Vikings 17. Take it to the atm boys.

I look for a majority of the plays to be to Matt's right. Both running (away from the tackles) and passing (away from both Allen and the middle push). In this game, we just look stronger to the right side.

I'm just amazed at the fact that this is a COMPLETELY different team than we started with. Our inaugural season and on, if we had went 0-4, it was O V E R. This team packed it in and played half-arsed the rest of the season. Now they all have confidence and WE believe they are better than their record. This team should be at least 5-3, but that's how the ball bounces, and if karma does even out, we'll win some games this year that we should lose. So I'd like to give a big ol' Texans kool-aid toast to all of us fans who survived the horrid C&C years and have nothing but up to go now.

Can't blitz too much because Gus is kinda like Sage he will sling it and is not afraid to do so even if he throw a bunch of INTS. He has 1286 yards, 5 TD's and in 5 games so he's not that bad. Sidney Rice, Berrian, Wade are not bad recievers either, no way you leave 1-1 on the corners too much. We know its the Texans weak link.

I think it's more likely that we are held to under 100 yards rushing.

If Slaton breaks 100 yards rushing, consider me absolutely shocked. Look I think he's a great RB but there's a reason the Vikings and Rush D go usually get said in the same sentence. I'm hoping for at least 50-60 yards.

But if Slaton is reading this, dude you go right ahead and break 150. Better yet why not reach for 200? :D

The Vikings run defense is strong from their interior. We dont run up the middle very much unless it's a cutback. Jared Allen is strong against the run but Vonta can help out the tackles on handling him on run blocking because our WR's are such great blockers as well. Sweep to the long side of the field and give Slaton some open field against Minnesota's poor linebackers and he will get it done. I don't gurantee 100+ yards but 75+ rushing 25+ receiving 2 TD's is my prediction for him.
