Hi, everyone! :) Our Texans will make their first visit to the Metrodome when they play Adrian Peterson and the Vikings. Gametime and kickoff will be at 12:05PM Central Standard Time.
Dick Enberg and Randy Cross will announce the game commentary for the NFL On CBS, wih KHOU CBS 11 televising locally. Marc Vandermeer and Andre Ware will also announce the game play-by-play and analysis on flagship station KILT 610AM, and the Texans Radio Network.
We wish the Texans to play today with no penalities, turnovers, and especially no injuries. Let's see them try to win their fourth game in a row also even their record halfway in their 2008 NFL season at 4-4, and GO TEXANS!!!!! ;) :) :D

i think our offense will struggle, but our D will run all over their horrid passing offense and AP wont be enough. I say we win 17-10:)

I just want to see us come out fired up and play like we have been...the rest will take care of itself and we should come away with another W. Some are predicting a loss, others a close win...I actually think we make a statement and win by ATLEAST a touchdown.
This will be the only time I complain about this but....that dang time change...now I have to wait one more hour before the game starts!!

I hope you right, but if our O Put less than 21 point on the board I dont see we could walk out of their stadium with a Win.

I think we can pull this one out. It's not going to be easy - but hopefully smart play and momentum will keep us rolling.

Interesting blurb about Steve Slaton and our run game today.
No doubt, Minnesota is nasty against the run (2.9 yards per carry allowed). But its strength lies up the gut with the two Williams'. There have been backs that have had success against the Vikings this season, namely quick versatile types - Chris Johnson (75 yards from scrimmage, 2 TDs in Week 4); Reggie Bush (93 yfs in Week 5). Slaton is very capable of working the outside and can supplement his ground game with his excellent ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Houston is a hard team to contain on offense given the abundance of weapons - Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels, Slaton. I fully expect Matt Schaub to be able to move the ball down into the red zone a few times on Sunday. And Slaton has been one of the most heavily-used backs in the league inside the 20 - his 24 red zone carries rank eighth among RBs, while no back has equaled his eight red zone targets. As you can see, there's a good reason Slaton has scored in five of the past six games. I'm betting that he'll make it six out of his last seven on Sunday.

I think we win this game by 2 scores. I just hope we can get up two scores by the half and keep AP off the field. I think the secondary comes up big today because Gus Ferotte just doesn't strike much fear in me. I think we should put Fred Bennett on Sidney Rice and give Dunta a lot of time on him too. They are all former gamecocks and Fred probably knows how to shut him down. When we are on offense hopefully a lot of play action since the vikes are solid against the run.

The offense should do pretty good, if we limit the sacks to 2 and the turnovers to 1.
The penalty stuation looks good for us as the hikings are 13th in the league.
Peterson is their only real gamebreaker threat, although they are 12th total offense.
Texans defense has steadily improved since week 2 and should continue to do so in this game.

...try that, man. You have to look to the right, and be ready, or the link will time out. But, it worked last week. And yes, I feel your pain-- but try being a Texans fan in TEXAS with just about the same amount of coverage you get over there-- i.e., no TV last week outside the Greater Houston area, NO gear at the local Academy, ETC., haha. Good luck with the link. ;)

That is the one aspect of our game that we haven't quite got down. The ability to jump on turnovers. That tipped ball usually gets dropped by us with us wondering what could have been. If we can force Gus to do that, we are in great shape.
Live Edit: We also need to keep the WR in front of us. They are obviously trying to keep our safetys back with the deep balls.

Im all for schaub, but a hobbled qb isnt going to do us any good against this d-line...what a disappointment from the O so far...and whats with the no calls on hitting schaub in the knees?? What happened to the league was trying to protect their players blah blah blah...seems analyst were right...they are trying to protect big name marquee players...
We may just have to get Sage in there and hope he can manage this team...bad news is that he and AJ have no chemistry whatsoever...he loves throwing to walters though.

If you are blaming the fact that he can't move on the sack that caused a fumble, you missed the play completely. It was play action so M.Schaub had to turn his head away from the play. When he turned around, a guy was in his face and launching at him. Since we can't run, that play action is getting less and less effective.

So far yea! He is at the top of the list with 2 Turnovers. Costing the Texans at least 7 points. Next move would be benching Reeves and put in Faggins. You need to address your biggest problems first. When the Vikings step up the pressure Shaub fails period and has shown nothing today to prove me wrong. All of the passes he has completed today have been to wide open WR's and some of those have even been short. Yea it sucks cause he has alot of talent but he is missing something dont know what it is.

Our defense is playing pretty well, but the offense is not focused. The staff need to get on their butts and let them know that this is not acceptable.

I am now expecting a total blowout today just to get my mind ready for it and prepared. I am now looking forward to seeing a young player step up and make progress and someone show some stones with a good play. Thats today's goal starting the 2nd half.
Well, anything can happen here...I'm not giving up. Lots of game to play still.
But Kool-Aid aside, from where we were last year to where we are this year is a huge disapointment. We've lost to every team we've faced this year that was anywhere in the "ballpark" to be considered "good" and i use that term loosely. The only teams we've beaten were two 0 and whatever teams and a 1-15 team last year that we squeeked by in the last few seconds. Not a whole lot to hang your hat on. IMO it all falls on the coaches, the players they've brought in and their preparation (or lack of)
Anyway, hopefully we can come back and salvage this game, otherwise it's going to be more of the same this year as the last 7.
