Why does kube keep fooling himself into thinking schaub is gonna stop killing us? Sure he plays good against teams like detroit, cincinati ans miami. But when he plays a team that has any defense at all he throws the ball directly to the other team, when he's not fumbling!!!!!

like it was his fault it was 3rd and long and you give 2 seconds to throw? Sage put up 14 points how many did matt put up? oh wait zero. Matt should be in the movie unbreakable and be samuel l. jackson.

Both of our QB's need to go. Just because they're better than Carr doesn't mean they're good enough to take this team to the Super Bowl and win it. Neither Schaub nor Rosenfels is good enough to do that. They're inconsistent and turn the ball over too much. Good riddance to both of them.

Lets get rid of Schaub and Rosenfels and bring back Tony Banks or David Ragone....*sarcasm
Whenever the Texans lose, everyone seems to take the blame on Schaub. People, football is not a one man team. If ya are going to blame it on Schaub, mine as well blame Andre Johnson for not playing great today. Jesus, did ya even see what happen to Schaub when he got hit by J. Allen. It was a helmet-to-knee. TWICE!!! I ain't gone argue with this anymore, ya just don't know the definition of football and team.

How many of these threads do we need. Matt is the starter and Sage is the backup. Both have proven that they are in the correct positions on the depth chart by their performance on the field.

Hey guys, I missed the game. I saw of nlfdotcom that Sage was playing quite a bit. Why was Sage on the field? Did Matt get hurt? Someone plz clue me in.

At least 1 hit was dirty and will probably get fined, they were going for the knees and he was hobbling. I don't think a QB made of glass would have lasted as long as matt did. Bunch of idiots

I've been saying our line needs to step it up for 7 years. But Schaub is killing us with these passes to DB's with guys wide open. I'm not saying Sage is the answer either. I'm just hoping that they don't see Matt as a long term answer, cuz all I see when he gets touched is a scared QB looking to get rid of the ball.

I dont know about y'all but I seem to recall a certain qb who ran the 2 minute offense calm and collected with 1:47 left on the clock and ran it to perfection....This game...no so much. Not calm, not collected, and certainly no poise or presence of mind in the pocket...on that first sack he coul have slid to his left like he had before and avoided that sack..instead he just stood there and allen grabbed him from the side and dragged him down....not very good at all...especially in that situation.

perhaps y'all didnt notice that the dline didnt try and pressure sage until the final 2 drives of the game...thats cause he came in with two good knees and they hadnt hit him there yet. Fresh qb that can scramble...they backed off and tried to defend against the pass. Guess with us playing stellar d for the first 3 qtrs they figured they didnt have the time to get cheap shots in on sage

This thread is ridiculous. U might want to start a thread to replace our entire interior OL (since Brown is rook and will get there).
I think this would be a much more appropriate and intelligent thread.

So just because you don't like Schaub you're a bandwagon fan? Make sense since matt has only been here 2 years and the Texans been around longer. Plus there is no such thing as a bandwagon when you are 3-5. Bandwagons only exist when you are a good team and people start to follow or like you since your good, thats what bandwagon means. look it up on wikipedia haha.

The truth is we need to beef up the O-line and get some steroid taking studs in there like they did today on their D... not seriously of course. It would be nice to deliver the same hard hitting D-line action they had against us all the while picking up some big time help for the QB's protection. I think Matt is a good QB who just can't take a cheap shot like a McNabb or Jerrard. Also, it'd be nice to see those D-line picks that we've used in a more destructive fasion against opposing teams then more on ourselves. Sorry for the rant.

You ever notice the best position on a team is behind the 1st string QB. If he fails due to anything he is terrible...If he does good you get paid for nothing. Hell is there a better job other than Hefs

I have never seen so many stupid *** fans in my life. Anyone that says Matt needs to go is just dumb. Matt is just like your teenage son on a date...... he needs protection. our center sucks did you see how low he was snapping the ball to sage at the end of the game? our o-line still needs work, we need more help on d-line too. But to blame everything on Matt is just ignorant. Maybe we just need to get rid of the whole team maybe that would make some of you so called fans happy.

to all the bevis and butthead fans out there that think they know football. THIS IS NOT OUR YEAR........when are u dummys gona understand that. we are BUILDING ..........getit? MATT looked bad.....couldnt even get us in field goal range......every1 knew vikings had a gr8 D......we are learning.....just like MATT and SAGE. MATT took some cheap shots on his leg....I SAW IT.....had i been a OL i would have droped a ELBOW on ALLENs head for doing it. i saw SALAAM get pushed back so fast i thought a train hit him....the D was comin and we were not prepared for it AGAIN. its always easy to beat up the LITTLE KID down the street, but to beat up the bully of the block is another story. SAGE kept us in the game, or at least tryed to....way way more than MATT did. at times our D looked gr8, and then other times i just shook my head and wondered who we are getting in the 1st round of the next draft:D

Did you miss our O-line pancake Allen on a crack back "block" a few plays later smashing all his weight down on his shoulder?
When Is aw that I got excited because we finally have a fire from our O-line that if you screw with our QB you better watch your back. unlike last season when Schaub got hit with cheap shots and they O-line woudl just look at it and walk abck to the huddle like they were wearing handcuffs.
I am not a fan of people playing dirty and going headhunts on players, but when you take 2 cheap shots on a QBs legs (which is supposed to be illegal) expect some payback. I think the player that hit him was Myers, but I could be wrong. It happene dona play where the ball went right by Allen and as he turned one of our downfield blockers came right abck to him and slammed him hard to the ground. Nice solid ZBS block in my opinion! :)

Best thing is, I don't have to read about " Leadership" that Matt brings to our game. He's got skills when he has protection. But, when he's got to share his backfield with D-linemen he will get knocked-out of the game. We are a two QB team, because of our O-line. We need the " Chin ", or someone in his class that will build a O-line.

Matt is the better QB when he's protected. Sage has no consistancy to him and will always make atleast one mistake. If both QB's are getting adequate protection its schaub who you want back there.

The only mistake Matt made is trying to play when he is too hurt to play. he didn't make any mistakes until he was hurt. The int. & fumble came right after that.
It stinks, it's not fair, I hate it!

Go Texans!!! I think what alot of people are missing is this- the O-line is getting pushed around because the opposing D-Line does not have to honor the run.
The O-lines inability to pass block is systematically tied to not having a running game. We have a running game, we just need tp call better running plays. Steve Slayton should not be running between the tackles. He should run tosses, sweeps, counters and screens. That falls of the OC or whomever calls the plays.
I watched the game again and it was evident to me (as well as the Viking DC) that this QB was badly hobbled. Why Kubiak didn't pull him, I don't know?
Both of these QB's have talent/value which means one of them has to go to benefit the team- I'd keep Sage for durabilities sake.

I hve been sayingt hsi to myself each time I see Slaton charge right up the middle. We need to use him on screens and sweeps a lot more and then we will have a good run game on the outside.
If the D wants to push all the way into the QB let them, then toss it over there heads to Slaton who would be standing right behind them for a quick screen. I know it is easier to watch the game a few times and see exactly what plays we nee dto succeed, but some of these plays should have been used over the past 3 games.
For example, we were al screaming about needing to use Owen on some tightend screen plays to loosen up the D a bit and around game 3 we started seeing those. Now if we can get some screens on Slaton we should see his production pick back up. I am amazed how much Slaton has dropped off the map over the last few games.

Matt is on when he has the time. Our O-line is peddling backwards most of the time. I think we need to draft or trade to upgrade the weak areas of our O-line. Just an extra 2 seconds for our QB would make the difference. Espcially in the games we should of won this year. My only concern about Matt, is how durable is he. David Carr was a much worse QB, but he stood up to the pounding. I am not ready to give up on Matt, but our Center and Guards are questionable.
