View Full Version : Minny didn't beat us - we beat ourselves.

We had chances to score not once, not twice, but three times if I recall - Leach (Int), Johnson *when he was past everyone but instead he passed to Walters short*, and Walters at the end zone. That would have been 21 sure points right there. So we killed ourselves there. And their defensive line had a field day with our offensive line. So - until next week - keep our chins up! It is fustrating - I know but we need to look forward. I am fustrated but the same time encouraged - but you know I have to say one thing - Minnesota is a pretty good team. And at least we didn't lose to Cincy like Jax did.

yup and finally made my decision on what favorite sport I like the best. Football is just ticking me off with so little games and waiting a week for mediocre play.

Although Minny played a heck of game with their front 4, I would agree with the title that we beat ourselves. The missed INT by Bennett hurts too.

A game of missed opportunities. I'm going to hang my head low on this one.

Wasn't the score 28-21 Minnesota? That means they beat us. I didn't know the Texans were playing themselves this weekend. Lame excuses.

I agree the Texans cost themselves points (14) and that does hurt. However Minnesota made plays. The last td the was the result of AP getting big runs.
The Minn special teams was good. we started in poor field position all day. the last punt caused the finish IMO. I was impressed with the Texans Offense (once again) and mildly impressed with the defense...(the big play bit us hard today). I am disappointed but not dismayed.

The opposing team may say that they had a hand in us making those mistakes.

Do you guys think that every game you're gonna score on every drive and not commit a turnover? you have to play through those thing and win if you want to be a good team. This is not a good team.

Yeah....the game is full of mistakes. Everytime a team makes a mistake the other makes a 1st down, a reception, a TD...I mean EVERY game is won due to the winning team making LESS mistakes than the losing team. It's just a backdoor kinda way to say we got beat by a team that played the game better than we did.

No other reason for the loss.

once again, the turnover monster rears its head. almost every loss we have had this season has been due to us loosing the ball!!

THats just a fact of football. You can't win by turning the ball over.

thats the difference between us and good teams. with our offense and defense in the games we have played, we should be at least 6-2. but dropped balls and turnovers negate anything a good team is capable of.

I cant recall a dropped ball by a receiver...I know there were some throws that were high...2 to Aj and one to Walters...but other than that...i didnt see any. Bennett's you cant really blame him..he was getting ready to lay the wood on someone and all of a sudden theres the ball...Id rather he go for the sure tackle first than always try and play the ball...thats how db's get burned.

i wasnt just referring to this game. some of our early loses (jacksonville in particular) we had dropped balls.

We beat ourselves in the Jags game.

We beat ourselves in the Colts game.

We beat ourselves in the Vikings game.

We should change our strategy.

Actually the best thing going in Houston sports wise right now is the Houston Dynamo, they have already brought two MLS Championships to Houston in just the two years they have been here with a third in the making. :D
