Not sure if this is the best board for this, but here goes:

The Broncos game on Dec. 13 is scheduled to be shown on the NFL Network. Does anyone know if the game will also be broadcast on the local "Texans" station (KTRK?)?

I live in Bryan, and our cable system gives us whichever Houston station shows the preseason games (I guess that's KTRK), but we don't have NFL Network. I thought I had heard that the games shown only on cable/satellite usually were given a local broadcast, also, but it doesn't seem that way from looking at the Texans' website.

If the game is sold out, then yes.. if not then it'll be blacked out..

No matter what network the game is played on, if it's the home team, you're in their market, and it's a sell out then by NFL rules they're required to air that game in that market.

Are you sure about that?
Did that happen with the Sunday night games that were broadcast on ESPN? If you didn't have cable, did you get to see them on your local network affiliate?
I think this is the same sort of thing - like ESPN, NFLn is a cable-only network. If what you say is true, then the NFL game would have to bump nighttime network programming off the air in certain areas. And how do they decide which network would run it?

Since the Texans were rarely on Sunday night games, (and I've always had cable) I need some input from someone out of town for this answer....

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember that ever happening...
