The early returns for the Pro Bowl are in (http://www.houstontexans.com/news/blogs.asp?post_id=388), and Andre Johnson, Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans are the three Texans players who currently rank in the top-five of vote-getters at their respective positions.
There are plenty of other Texans having stellar seasons, including tight end Owen Daniels, running back Steve Slaton, kick returner Jacoby Jones and kicker Kris Brown.
Click here (http://www.nfl.com/probowl/ballot) to fill out your Pro Bowl ballot to help send your favorite Texans to Hawaii. Voting ends Dec. 9.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The Pro Bowl rosters will be announced Dec. 16.

Jones, Brown, Daniels, and Slaton won't get in this year I think. They just don't have their name popular enough yet.
As for the rest, I am glad to see Ryans back there, as well as Mario finally getting the attention he needs. Vince may have been the first Probowler out of the big three, but IF Mario makes it, he got there LEGIT. Andre Johnson was a shoe-in given the stellar year he has had. Hopefully he doesn't decline too much to where he would get booted out.

I do not think that Demeco is having a pro bowl worthy season. I know that might not be the most popular senitment on the boards, but his production is way down.
Now, granted, I think he has been battling a host of injuries both announced and undisclosed. He has not seemed right for much of the season. Be it his shoulder or his wheels. He just isn't nearly as explosive as he was last year.
He ranks a paltry 20th in total tackles and the majority of his tackles are four and five yards down the field. Part of this stems from the system that he plays in and part of it lies in the fact that he has not been healthy. But the bottom line is production, and I don' think he has the numbers to warrant a Pro Bowl selection. Love the guy. Think he is a lynchpin in what promises to be a young and very good defense. But this year...nope.

Until the team starts winning, getting Texans on the Pro Bowl team is going to be nearly impossible. You can have all the stats in the world, but if your team sucks and you're losing games, the rest of the league doesn't consider your accomplishments legitimate.

What do people think about Kevin Walter? I doubt he has any shot of getting in but he is having a pro-bowl type year. His numbers are almost identical to TO minus some yards. 4th in the league in recieving td's and at the pace he is going at he should end up with 1,000 yards.

The sad part of the NFL is they have no official stats on O-Linemen!! So players like Eric Winston who quietly go out every Sunday and excel get very little notice and with no official stats you have to see him work to know the high quality job he has done all season.
I would like to see the Texans stats on there linemen as to sacks, pressures and how they grade out game for game. Winston would compare to anyone in the league, but to his credit you never hear anything but positive from him about the team and his team mates, and every Sunday he goes out and is a wall on the right side of the 0-Line.
Did you ever consider that the reason that the best(so called) defensive tackles line up on our left side is because we have a rookie over there who is learning. Those D tackles that line up on the right have a long afternoon week after week as Eric wears them out. If you doubt that go back to last year and watch what Eric did to Julius Peppers, He neutralized him so well that even the Carolina papers marveled at his ability.
It's time for this Kid to get the credit he deserves!!

Great point. Also what about Leach? He hasn't gotten any attention, yet he is opening up holes and making our RB's that much better. He reminds me of Lorenzo Neal and what he did for Tomlinson.

I think Leach would make a good power back for short yards too!!!!!

This is very true...i think they need to change some things. They say the probowl is for having a stat filled year...it seems no matter what, most of the same people make it every year...take Roy Williams for example...i don't understand how he makes it every year. All this is is a popularity contest, not who gets the best stats.

Stole my thunder here. I believe that Eric Winston has been tremendous. Lost admidst all of the negative attention brought to the Texans offensive line woes, not enough praise has been sung of Winston. He has been excellent. The Texans run the majority of their run plays to the right and he always takes care of his job.
Vonta Leach is getting attention this year. I have seen announcers go out of their way to laud his blocks. He will get some major attention this year and may get named as an alternate. Wouldn't be suprised if next year he makes it on his own.

I'm with you Coach!!! Three biggest plays Monday night that Slaton had and they all went right. When you have a bulldozer like Eric get behind him, and let him plow the road............
