Denial - Anger - Bargaining - grieving - Acceptance

Like chronically ill patients... we've finally reached the Acceptance stage.

Unlike them, there's always next year for us.

Cheer up! :) life goes on

Unfortunately I already drank the Kool Aid with the cyanide in it. Wish I would have read your post before.... hahaha. Here's to looking at the draft and next year's.... what's left to be seen.

I don't bargain but everything else seems right on point. Although my koolaid flows from that ever filling cup, so I will bounce back after a good solid win or decent off season transaction.

haha, you may not bargain, but you're right there at the acceptance stage with me, my friend. Welcome, and long live the Texans!

That's fine Kubler-Ross is not a progression but a list of possible responces to grief you don't have to do all of them. Unfortunately some people never accept their grief.

The OP is hilarious for someone who has studied this. We fans do fall right in line with the predicted responces.

There is plenty to look forward too, last year on Thursday night we were out of the playoff picture but that game was still epic, so will this one against the jags, we will beat Tennesse to break their streak too.

I actually hope Farve leads the Jets to beat the Titans.

Honestly, I think it is too much preasure for our team to be able to stop an unbeaten Titans team. And while a loss may put the Titans back on guard, I think an unbeated Titans team would recognize how much of a trap game facing us in Houston might be. A one lose Titans team will be much easier to deal with in my opinion then one trying to go for for the unblemished record.

Way to finish things off when they don't count/matter. Thanks guys! I'd rather you have finished off the one of the Colts games, the Jags game, and the Minn game.

I think we're all trying our best to find a reason to watch the rest of the season. I still want to see us win, even if it's meaningless. Me, I hope that the Titans don't sit their starters against us. That way, we can break some legs and ruin their season! :)

Yeah. but it is what it is. Would you like for us to go out and give it our all and try to finish strong with a block to build on next season and finish this one looking half way presentable or just curl up, die and sit here talking about all the shoulda coulda's?

Hey you! Over There! Stand Up! and Cheer! For P-R-I-D-E for Pride!!!! For Pride!!!

You know it really is that simple. There is nothing more to play for than pride. We already know the playoffs and our goal has not been met so why get all mad right now. The only thing we as fans can do is really cheer for pride and hope that Ws start piling up because Win, Lose or Draw we will be at home for the playoffs.

(and I know many of you are going to say ' How can we cheer for pride if the players don't play with pride?') The answer to that is because they are your team.

Actually I am going to watch to the bloody mary, I mean bloody end. This has shown ( to me ) that all my posts about Kubiak must go is correct. The team was built, the plays were called in and GM Smith and HC Kubiak could not improve the W & L. We have written or read on this board and others that it's the Wins and losses that matter, and this year is a testiment to Kubiak's true talent, he has none. We do not need an overhaul - BIG MISTAKE - we need a HC to come and put the pieces we have in the right place and start over next year ( I am growing tired of Next Year, but it's all I have with this team ). Disappointing to me is how Kubiak continued to do the same things week after week and loosing and do it all again the next week and, what the heck is going on in his head ? ANd the Redskins went after Hall from Oakland, did we ? Where was Rick Smith ? REdskins gave him a 1 year deal, and he is hands down better than what we've had all year, and what if he wanted to stay ? Robinson & Hall. It's not that Kubiak didn't make it to the playoffs, it's that he lost the team, he lost too many games, and he went back word early in the season and did nothing to right the ship.

I went through all of them in the span of 20 minutes.

There is always next year. As bad as this team sucks, the law of probablity says that eventually we will win. We are just saving it all up for an undefeated season.

Not me. I want to see an unbeaten Titans team lose to the Giants in the Super Bowl.

I have been a die hard Texans fan from the beginning like most of you. And like most of you, i have consistantly cheered, consistantly hoped, and consistantly been disapointed.
Still, we continue to be fans through all the failure. yes, we screem obscenities at our tv's and call the plays that should have been, but we are still fans.
But I'm getting tired. D@mn tired. For some reason this season is getting to me more than before. Maybe I finally believed this was the year or that the houston curse could only last so long, or...whatever. The point is, I let my guard down enough to really believe the hype(stupid..I know) this time.
They are just making it dang near impossible to cheer for them this year for me. I can take just plain old getting beat, but marching down the field with ease then turning the ball over is causing the lining of my stomach to wear through. Getting beat by a good team isn't fun but it is swallowable. Dominating a team for 55 minutes only to lose in the last 5 is an excrement sandwich the size of texas.
It like they refuse to allow themselves to be cheered for. WTF!

But,....I'll be on my couch again today...eating chips and salsa and cheering nonetheless.
I must be a glutton for punishment.

Thanks for the space to vent. I hope someone will tell me I'm off base. I hope someone will tell me I'm just overreacting and that i need to just chill. Please, some one tell me to have faith. I fear there is no one left to cheer me up since I have been the one untill this point spreading that very message to my friends.

...one of these days my poor TV will simply refuse to turn on for this very reason, and I will deserve it. Great post, as it hits REAL close to home. :)

Nope, you're not over reacting and you don't need to chill. You do what we all do, religiously glue to the TV every sunday. And you're right, this year got to us all harder than the previous seasons. This was the season of hope. We had a momentum. We were spotlighted in ESPN magazine. We were the IT factor. And we felt short, way way short from all expectations.

it's 15 minutes till the game, and I already know... I'm about to go through the roller coaster again....

GO TEXANS!

Sadly, this win isn't enough to get me back into full form. I recognized before the game that the Browns were very similar to the Texans so us winning thanks to the other team getting more turnovers, doesn't get me back on the harder koolaid but I am grateful.

I don't ever want to see them near the legendary status of an undefeated season. Thankfully, the Jets have helped me not have to worry about them skirting into the record books by way the weak schedule they have thanks a lot of under performing teams and them realizing Vince Young was a weakness.
