Default Owen Daniels...replacement

TEXANS...This was an impressive performance at Buffalo,we finally took care of business and beat a lesser team, that we should of beat...with a couple of plays..(i.e.Arizona & Jacksonville)...we could be 7-1 right now...but now to the real deal...are we going to go out and get a TOP KNOTCH replacement(for Owen) from a team whose already dialed in this season? This could be OUR YEAR....Think about it...

Welcome to the boards. We already have solid TEs to back up OD. If we bring in anyone it will be a depth player to give us another body for practice and possible rest during the game.

We still have Dressen, Casey, and Hill which means we are still in solid shape once Casey's knee is redy to go.

We will not pay big bucks to bring in another TE just for 2-3 games.

I seriously doubt their are any probowl TE's sitting by their phones this week (we can't trade for one), if there is a Dressen like guy out there I say sign them we can always wave them if AntHill gets it and Casey does what we think he can.

Dreesen is solid. He'll take Owen's place nicely if Walter will return to 2008 form.

I completely disagree, Dreesen has yet to show us ANYTHING this season to demonstrate that he is solid. He's a good blocker, decent route-runner, but I'm not completely sold on the guy yet. Hopefully he steps up big next week and proves me wrong

Default Barwin?!

here's a crazy idea to add depth to TE
http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/pos...in-for-some-te

I tend to agree with opinion quoted in the article coming out against this move, but still, you gotta admit it's interesting . . .

What hasn't convinced you he has caught 5 of 7 balls thrown his way, one was 3 feet over his head. He has 3 first down one a crucial 4 and 2 convertion, he has a 10+ YPC and 40% of his yard are after the catch, where has he done anything wrong???

Few TEs in the league could just step into ODs spot and perform like he was.

I doubt his back ups are going to be able to pull it off.

I'm not saying he's done ANYTHING wrong, I'm saying you're looking at a VERY small sample size to extrapolate his potential for the remainder of this season. I'm personally not sold on him yet...and I'm pretty sure his 1 drop was in the endzone...but like I said, I hope he excels the rest of the way and steps up mightily for this team
