I am not hiding from the playoff loss in January. I just assumed people knew it was a regular season streak I am talking about.

And comparing what each team has done over the past 3 games is meaningful how? I ask because none of the teams the Colts played were Houston and same for the Texans. And are you really comfortable with the idea of limiting the Colts rushing game considering who Indy has at QB? If the Colts rush for ZERO yards, they will still have a chance to win.

Lastly either team can win. But if anyone has a slight edge, it has to be the Colts. Home game, winners of 16 games in a row overall, the best player on either team in Manning, OD being out, among others. That does not mean the Colts win but if you are honestly measuring intangibles, they are on the Colts side.
Very good post.

All true.

They have a culture of winning.... we don't.

That is what is on the line Sunday. There are several reasons... lots of "statistical" data.. even probability to some extent is on our side to win the game.

But if we win this game, it will be because we wanted to more than they did.

Interceptions, fumbles, injuries... the Colts won't let any of that stop them, we shouldn't either.

What is the difference you played a team you beat earlier in the season, I beleive the personnel were the same on both teams SD actualy had more injuries I think. You played 60 minutes right on the same size field right, so why would you think we would just throw out a big game smack dab in the middle of your suppossed streak.....

LOL.

The fans on this boards use selective stats ALL THE TIME to make the texans sound better. Like the way everyone was harping on schaub "leading the league in yards" except they left off the part where he has played an extra game and is actually third in ypg. Third is nothing to be ashamed of, but facts get in the way around here.

Because the media won't shut up about how amazing their regular season streak is. It is the dumbest thing I have ever heard to try and make it sound like the Colts are world beaters. All that matters is that the Colts are 7-0 right now, finding ways to go back and say they are actually better than that is silly.

They are not the same team this season with new players in, old players out, and a handful of new coaches. I guess when someone like Dungy leaves you want to hold on to his success as long as possible.

If the Texans beat the Colts on Sunday their "regular season wins" will still not die because the media will latch on to how they have only lost 1 game over their last 17.

A meaningful stat would be if the Colts went all the way to the Superbowl. Then the media would be saying the Colts have not lost a game since the middle of last season and that would have some validity becaus enot lossing for that stretch of time would be impressive.

That is not a selective stat, he does not have an extra game over ALL teams, just the ones with a bye week early. When you look at stats you do not remove credit simply because one team has not hit their bye week yet. I think you would have been more valid if people had been pulling stats from lasts eason and talking about how good Schaub if when you combine last years numbers with this year. That is what the media is doing for the COlts and it is silly.

If the fans said he was leading the league in Yards Per Game, then their point would not be valid. However, you just said people were using a stat that Schaub does lead in and saying a different stat is more important. Schaub has thrown his yardage in his games so why try and act like that is a selective stat. What team do you really cheer for? You really enjoy talking down about the Texans.

Look at our time of possession and the average time we hold the ball once we receive it. Since we can not run the ball as we did last year we are using more screens, short slants, and throws to the tight end to control the ball and the clock. The long plays that we have had this year are more a result of yards after the catch than long pitch and catch.

Texans are impressive this year but I think each team will win on its home turf.
